Let’s sweat! Just Dance 2 has become the eighth Wii title to clear five million sold.

The October 2010 release is now part of an exclusive club, heretofore populated solely by Nintendo first-party titles. One can imagine smoking jacket Mario sitting by the fireplace in mid-conversation with Reggie, their private discussion interrupted when the door opens and the Ubisoft dancers stroll into the penthouse suite.

The other seven games to crest five million are Wii Play (13.04 million), Mario Kart Wii (10.64 million), New Super Mario Bros. Wii (8.36 million), Wii Fit (8.17 million), Wii Fit Plus (7.06 million), Wii Sports Resort (6.45 million), Super Smash Bros. Brawl (5.28 million). Quite a spread in the numbers, but that’s the Wii for you. There are all US totals, incidentally.

Just Dance 2 Becomes Eighth Wii Title to Sell More Than 5 Million Units

Just Dance® 2 from Ubisoft®, which plays exclusively on Nintendo’s Wii™ console, has sold more than 5 million units, according to the independent NPD Group, which tracks video game sales in the United States. With this milestone, the Wii system now has eight 5-million sellers* in the U.S., twice as many as competing current-generation consoles combined.

In the month of July, seven of the top 10 and 15 of the top 25 best-selling software SKUs play on Nintendo platforms. Just Dance 2 sold more than 120,000 units to finish No. 3 for the month.

“By crossing the 5 million sales mark, Just Dance 2 joins one of the most exclusive clubs in the world of video games,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Nintendo systems have games for every type of player. We’re poised for a great holiday season, thanks to tremendous value across all our platforms and fan-favorite franchises delivering fun new surprises.”

During the next few months, Nintendo will release a huge selection of fan-favorite titles. This includes Star Fox 64™ 3D, Super Mario™ 3D Land and Mario Kart™ 7 for the Nintendo 3DS™ portable entertainment system, The Legend of Zelda™: Skyward Sword for Wii and Kirby™ Mass Attack for the Nintendo DS™ family of systems, which was the best-selling platform in July.

* The Wii titles to surpass 5 million units sold in the U.S. include: Wii Play™ (13.04 million), Mario Kart™ Wii (10.64 million), New Super Mario Bros.™ Wii (8.36 million), Wii Fit™ (8.17 million), Wii Fit™ Plus (7.06 million), Wii Sports Resort™ (6.45 million), Super Smash Bros.™ Brawl (5.28 million) and Just Dance 2 (5.09 million).

With the picture above, you can almost taste the excitement of these people as they play the latest release from Ubisoft, Just Dance 3, on Kinect. Yes, the new Just Dance title is coming to Microsoft’s Kinect platform and it will be the first dancing title that will allow for four players to get down and show their moves all at the same time. Just Dance 3 on Kinect will also allow players to use the Just Create mode and make a dance routine that they can share with their friends to see if they can repeat the dance with the same precision.

Is it just me, or do I see a ton of drunken dancing routines being created for the entertainment of the rest of us?

In this newest developer diary for Driver San Francisco, we get a look at the mechanic that is core to the experience, the “Shift” mechanic. In what we know in the original concept for the game, we know that Tanner is in a coma, and most of the action in the game comes from his delusional state. Because of this imagined reality, Tanner, can “Shift” between cars to either chase or crash into suspects.

I can’t say that I am high or low on this concept, as it does try to keep you in the action, but it seems like a gimmick that might lose its flavor over time. I am still sitting on this title, as I decide whether the car aspect of this game is worth picking it up at launch, or waiting until I see it at a discount.

The Rabbids have a new game coming out for Kinect this fall and in this new humorous video, the Rabbids show their love for Captain America with a Rabbid donning a faux Captain America costume as Captain Rabbid. Okay, Captain Rabbid is my name for the little guy in this video, but it is quite funny, even if they are short.

Check out the trailer for this new commercial after the jump. Raving Rabbids 5th Anniversary is set for a release exclusively on Kinect for Xbox 360 this fall.

Ubisoft’s controversial new title, Call of Juarez: The Cartel has officially hit retail shelves today for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The new title moves the Call of Juarez story from the mid-1800′s to current day, and features a three person task force that has been charged with taking the Mexican drug cartels down after they bomb an ATF headquarters.

The task force consists of LA Cop Ben McCall, DEA agent Eddie Guerra and FBI agent Kim Evens as they shoot their way through an amalgam of drug runners, smugglers and cartel heads. The game has been considered a controversial release due to its cartel releated subject matter, due to real life events in border towns across the southwest United States.

Also noteworthy is its new “coopetition” mode of co-op gameplay, which has three players teaming up to defeat the cartels, but also having to engage in secret goals that are central to each of the three characters. Pull off one of these secret missions without the other players finding out and you get extra experience points, whereas if you get caught, the other player will reap the rewards.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel is out today for Xbox 360 and PS3 from Techland and Ubisoft. A PC version is still set to ship in September 2011.

Ubisoft’s world building title, From Dust was officially given a PC release date of July 27th, 2011, on Steam, the UbiShop, Direct2Drive and other digital retailers for the low price of $14.99. We also have a new developer diary that shows off some of the gameplay elements that will be used in From Dust, which to me, has a vibe that reminds me of the old school PC title, Populous.

Gamers will use the environment to help guide the indiginous people around the world, as well as using them to stave off natural disasters like floods, fire and more. Check out the full developer diary after the jump.

Ubisoft is ready to make all the car fanatics drool with the full reveal of the 120 licensed vehicles that will be featured in Driver San Francisco. Whether you like muscle cars, foreign exotics, or heavy duty trucks, you will find something to stoke your fire in the list of vehicles. I was a bit upset that there are no Porsche vehicles in the list, but the addition of the “Red Striped Tomato” (’74 Gran Torino) and the ’70 Chevy Chevelle SS are more than enough to satisfy my car appetite.

Check out the full list as well as a new video featuring a few of the cars in Driver San Francisco. Driver San Francisco is set for an August 2011 release on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 from Ubisoft and Reflection Studios.

Hello one and all, Aeropause Games is at E3, and will will have a slew of stuff to talk about today that we are seeing at the show. Coming up this evening will be a rundown of the three major press conferences, as well as a rundown from the Ubisoft conference. Quick summary on all – Microsoft was good, Sony surprised us all with a $249.99 price tag for the PS Vita and the Wii U looks and plays amazing. Oh, and for once, the Ubisoft presser was actually upbeat, exciting and to the point.

Today, we will have coverage coming from games hosted by Bethesda, a close look at what OnLive is doing with their new apps and content, and a detailed look at Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Hitman: Absolution. Roberto will have his own share of hardware and peripheral companies that he is visiting, and Fourhman will have some input with more on Ntntendo later today.

It’s a jam-packed show and we are looking to bring you the best in content with out own opinions and chatter on what we see at E3 this year. Enjoy!

Call of Juarez: The Cartel is adding some neat and interesting “coopetition” features to its cooperative play. When you are playing co-op in Call of Juarez: The Cartel, you can get extra missions and contacts that you will have to deal with, but the key to these is that you have to perform these tasks or meetings without getting caught by your teammates.

It may not be completely new, but it is an interesting way to put a twist on the feature set that could add some tension and compromising situations for team members and even for some great back stabbing moments.

Check out some screens for the new modes after the jump. Call of Juarez: The Cartel is set for release July 19, 2011 for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 from Techland and Ubisoft.

So, who here remembers Driver: San Francisco? You know, that game that was announced at last year’s E3, only to disappear for “design change” reasons. Sure, there was a lot of questions about the strange gameplay, where your main character was in a coma, and the events in the game were a dream, where you could jump between cars, but the driving looked good. However, doubts surfaced as to whether the game was even going to see the light of day.

Well, it looks as if Driver: San Francisco is back and it is hitting the newswaves today in full force. We have a new video after the jump that shows off events from what I would guess is the beginning of the game, although there is nothing that tells us whether the premise behind the game is the same, or if it has been completely changed.

Adding to the complete news blitz that his hitting for Driver: San Francisco, Ubisoft is also sponsoring a car in this year’s Gumball 3000 International driving event, which will be driven by Ndamukong Suh of the Detroit Lions. Suh is going to be driving a Dodge Challenger that is wrapped with a Driver: San Francisco livery. If you don’t know about the Gumball 3000 (and believe me, I had never heard of it), you can check it out over at the Gumball 3000 official website.

So, are you still interested in Driver: San Francisco, or have you moved on to different driving experiences alltogether?
