For those of you that like their Rock Band 3 with a lot of Aqua Net, this is the week for you as legendary rock band, Def Leppard, makes a return trip to the franchise with a six track pack. The DLC pack includes many of the band’s greatest hits, including such titles as “Rock of Ages”, “Pour Some Sugar on Me” and “Photograph” to name a few. All six of the tracks in the DLC pack also include Pro Guitar and Pro Bass tracks for an extra price. About the only down side is that a couple of the tracks are Live versions, which I am never a fan of, as they tend to take weird twists away from the original recording.

All tracks can be purchased separately for 200 Wii Points, 160 MS Points or $1.99 depending on platform or can be bought at a discount in one bundle for 1000 Wii Points, 800 MS Points or $9.99 based on platform.

Check the jump for the full track listing and European pricing.

This week in Rock Band 3, we get an eclectic mix of rap, funk and R&B for those that own a set of plastic instruments and Rock Band 3. First off is a mix of old and new Beastie Boys, with “No Sleep Til Brooklyn” from the License to Ill album, and “Make Some Noise” off of their new album Hot Sauce Committee Part Two. If the Beastie Boys are not your thing, we also have a track from the Godfather of Soul, James Brown with his hit, “Super Bad 1&2″. Rounding out the mix is a track from Rufus and Chaka Khan with “Tell Me Something Good”, and Heart returning to the fold with “Barracuda”.

Tracks will cost you 200 Wii Points, $1.99 or 160 MS Points depending on the platform of choice. As with all other Rock Band 3 tracks, you do need a full copy of the game to play the DLC tracks and Pro Guitar and Pro Bass tracks are available for several of the tracks above for a premium price. Check out the particulars on the releases in the presser below.

It seems strange to think that the legendary rock band Yes, has never shown up in a Rock Band game up to this point in time. That oversight has been rectified this week by the people at Harmonix, as a new five track pack from Yes will be available for Rock Band 3 next Tuesday.

The track pack leads off with one of their bigger hits, “Owner of a Lonely Heart”, but also includes other hits like “South Side of the Sky” and “I’ve Seen All Good People”. Both the Lonely Heart and Good People tracks will have pro guitar and pro bass tracks available for $0.99, 100 Wii Points or 80 MS Points depending on platform.

Look for more for more on the Yes Five Track Pack after the jump.

Harmonix is set to release a trio of new tracks for Dance Central that will get your feet moving in July. First up is one of the songs that defined my childhood, and that would be “Planet Rock” by Afrika Bambaataa and the Soul Sonic Force, a great tune using a dance infused backing track from Kraftwerk. Next up is “Break My Heart” by Taio Cruz, a huge hit for him off of his 2009 album, “Rokstarr”. Lastly is a track from Trey Songz called, “Say Aah”, which I can safely say I have not heard, but the kids seem to love it.

All of these tracks can be had for 240 MS Points and contain move charts and step by step charts for learning the tracks front to back. Of course, a full copy of Dance Central is required, and the title is exclusive to Kinect. Yes, I am sure you all know that, but there will be that one person that downloads the track and then comes back and wants to sue us for not disclosing all the important info.

KEEP THE PARTY GOING WITH NEW DANCE CENTRAL ROUTINES.
HITS FROM TAIO CRUZ, TREY SONGZ AND AFRIKA BAMBAATAA DROP TOMORROW!

Cambridge, Mass. – July 18, 2011 – Harmonix today confirmed that songs from Taio Cruz, Trey Songz and Afrika Bambaataa will drop on July 19th for download from the in-game store and on Xbox LIVE® for Dance Central™, the first controller-free, body-tracking, fully immersive dance video game, exclusively for Kinect™ for Xbox 360®. As announced at E3, these tracks will also be compatible with the recently revealed Dance Central 2, the sequel to the best selling dance game on Kinect, dropping later this fall.

This week will bring the debut of Bruno Mars to the Rock Band store, while Rise Against returns with several more tracks to add to their catalog.

Bruno Mars has become a big time star with several hits that I seem to hear constantly on the radio when I actually decide to turn it on in the car. Surprisingly, his tracks are hitting Rock Band 3 instead of Singstar, but my son won’t care as long as he gets to sing Grenade. Along with Grenade, Bruno Mars adds “Just the Way You Are” and “Marry You”.

Rise Agaisnt already has a few songs available on Rock Band 3, and have added three more with this latest DLC update. Joining Rock Band 3 on June 7th, will be “Audience of One”, “Help is on the Way” and “The Good Left Undone”.

Check the presser below for more on pricing and a couple of legacy tracks that are getting pro-guitar and bass added to them as well.

Rock Band goes to a single artist this week, as they celebrate a man that has spent 40 years in the music industry. Yes, the great Ozzy Osbourne gets his own week for Rock Band 3 downloads with eight DLC tracks. Harmonix looked to Ozzy for DLC, because it is the 30th anniversary of two of his biggest hit albums, “Blizzard of Ozz” and “Diary of a Madman”. Both albums have been digitally remastered and repacked into a special release, and the eight tracks come from the remastered edition.

Some of the tracks include “Mr. Crowley”, “Bark at the Moon” and more. However, in a strange twist, those two tracks along with “Mama, I’m Coming Home” will only be available if you download the full pack. Otherwise, you only get the five other tracks.

There will also be several tracks that ship with Pro-Guitar and Pro-Bass tracks for an extra $0.99 each. Hit the press release below for more info on all the tracks and specific platform pricing.

More than 100 million songs have been sold through the Rock Band Music Store since its launch Nov. 20, 2007.

Rock BandDLC Additions for Xbox 360, PlayStation®3 system and Wii
Ozzy Osbourne’s career has spanned four decades, and his music is as relevant today as ever. On any given day, you can hear his music blasting at sporting events, in films, on the radio, in TV commercials, video games or on your MP3 player. Ozzy is not only a legend and an icon, but is a pioneer in his genre of music. He has helped open the door for countless bands, giving them their first break by taking them on tour or including them on the bill for Ozzfest, his all-day metal festival.

One of the most iconic figures in pop culture, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy winner Ozzy Osbourne has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, approximately 50 million with his seminal metal band Black Sabbath and over 50 million more in his incredible 30 year career as a solo artist.

Next week, we’re expanding Ozzy’s Rock Band catalog with an eight-pack of songs celebrating the re-release of Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of A Madman. 2011 marks the 30th Anniversary of Blizzard of Ozz (U.S. release) and Diary of a Madman. Both landmark albums took metal in a new direction in the early 1980s, inspiring future generations of rock bands and fans. The new editions of these Hard Rock Masterpieces showcase Ozzy’s musical collaborations with late guitar virtuoso Randy Rhoads. Both Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman have been restored and remastered from the original tapes for these definitive editions. The special 30th Anniversary Deluxe Collector’s Box Set includes both albums on CD & Vinyl, “Ozzy Live” CD (previously unreleased live performances from the Blizzard of Ozz tour), “Thirty Years After The Blizzard” DVD Documentary, 100-page Coffee Table Book, Full-Size Detailed Replica of Ozzy’s Iconic Cross and More. To preorder, please click here.

Well, the 1980′s make a full fledged attack on the Rock Band 3 marketplace this week, with two acts hitting front and center. So get out your feathered hair, Bugle Boy zipper pants and check for tight cuffs on the legs because it is time to rock 1980′s style.

At the top of the list we have Culture Club putting their hit song, “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me” out for your next party night. We also have perennial 80′s favorite, Loverboy with their hit track, “Working for the Weekend”.

Moving out of the 1980, we have two tracks from the band with their own Ice Cream flavor, Phish with their two hit tracks, “Stash” and “Tweezer”. Next up is Faith No More with the track, “From Out of Nowhere”. Lastly we have Stone Temple Pilots with the hit track, “Big Bang Baby”. Alas, Scott Weiland, cocaine, heiroin and a big time party does not come included with that last track.

Check the presser below for the price point on each platform. And yes, Rock Band 3 is required to use any of the above mentioned DLC.
