If there’s a will, there’s a way. Xbox Live Gamer “xLustrous” on Halo 3’s file sharing figured it was more entertaining to share porn pictures on his Bungie account than artistic Halo 3 screenshots.
Rapture on HushedCasket:
Yesterday while playing in Halo 3 matchmaking, I was placed on a team with someone who insisted that I visit his file share as our game was starting. Figuring I didn’t have time to do this, I decided to wait until the game was over to look at his amazing Halo 3 screenshots. After the game was over, I navigated to my “recent players” menu and viewed the file share of the gamer.
I’m not surprised that someone has figured out a way to get images of this nature on their account, but what surprised me was the fact that they’re currently still there. HushedCasket links to the Gamer’s account on the Bungie website, which is surprisingly still active with the message: “* This file has been reported for violating the code of conduct. Click arrow to view at your own risk”
The guys over at SarcasticGamer.com are known for their hilarious parodies and the SarcasticGamer podcasts. Interestingly, they’ve also been able to allegedly score an inside source that has some interesting claims about Halo 4.
A very good and anonymous source tells us that Halo 4 is already in full development over at Bungie. I wish to God She/He/It had more details to share but at this point all She/He/It can confirm for sure is that Halo 4 is an official project being developed by Bungie, at this very moment.
With more than 20 million copies of Halo 3 sold worldwide, I know it’s a no-brainer that the series would continue somehow. It’s nice to get this sort of reassurance from a source who has never been wrong for us before.
True, it’s a no-brainer that Halo 4 would be under development somewhere. However, I’m surprised that Bungie is working on this and not Microsoft. If you remember, the whole point of Bungie leaving Microsoft was to escape the Microsoft culture and to work on non-Halo IP’s. Based on comments from both Microsoft and Bungie, such as this comment from an interview with Harold Ryan:
… there are guys that have shipped Halo games for ten years, and they are definitely ready to work on new IPs or create new things.
Well, I guess Bungie has had a change of heart. Hey, if they’re ready to jump back into the Halo well, more power to them. Honestly, though, I was interested to see what non-Halo properties they could come up with. Who knows, maybe they’re doing both.
The Amp Your Game National Gaming Tour by the Amp Energy Drink people have begun the cross-Canada, get-paid-to-play gaming tour starting right here in Halifax. The tour will roll across Canada all summer, stopping in 9 major cities including Halifax, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver to name a few. The event which is like the Canadian/American Idol of Gaming is looking for Canada’s best gamer to be the fourth member of the tour, and make some big bucks.
We were there today snapping up some photos of the very busy event, which coincidentally is stationed right beside a High School and massive Skate Park - that’s some good targeting right there, boys! The big tent housed over 80 game stations and one Halo 3 LAN station. I saw a lot of new titles that just came out this month, as well as older titles like Gears of War, Call of Duty 4 and Wii Sports. But the focus of the event was the Halo 3 competition which would go unnoticed to the uninformed noob, as the kids playing Halo 3 were quietly tucked away on one side of the tent desperately trying to avoid having to work a McJob this summer.
Here are the summer dates. If you live close to one of these cities, definitely check it out:
Halifax June 12 - 15 Halifax Commons
Montreal June 19 - 22 St-Laurent Boulevard
Ottawa June 26 - 29 Kanata Centrum
Toronto July 3 - 6 Harbourfront Centre
Winnepeg July 10 - 13 The Forks
Edmonton July 17 - 20 West Edmonton Mall
Calgary July 24 - 27 Eau Claire Market
Vancouver July 31 - August 3 Richmond Centre
Saskatoon August 7 - 10 Saskatoon Ex
Toronto August 22 - 24 MLG Toronto Pro Circuit
The Halifax tour ends this Sunday.
While I was there, I met the boys from Halophax, that’s ‘Halo’ and ‘Halifax’ combined - which I thought was a hilariously crafty name. These guys host local Halo game events, too. Check out their site.
Check out MLG (Major League Gaming) Canada to see how the Amp Your Game Search for the Pro works.
You can sign up on the Amp Energy site, but you could also just show up to the event and register.
Jeremy Gundel of College Humor put together a comical list of: “Things I’ve Learned On Xbox Live”. Jeremy’s list makes a pretty good attempt at understanding how the young adolescent male mind works while playing video games. His second to last point:
Everybody loses sometimes
Don’t feel bad, It’s probably just a result of you “sucking goat balls.”
It’s true, Jeremy. I’ve noticed this a lot on Xbox Live and more recently in multiplayer mode in GTA IV. If you’re really good in a game; kicking ass and helping your team NOT die, they’ll want to add your Gamertag to their Friend’s list. On the other hand if you just plain suck, you’ll hear about it or better yet they’ll try and make you look like an ass in front of everyone else by way of shooting or bad mouthing you. Where’s the camaraderie? In the Clans I suppose.
Here’s a cool short of a CSI-like TV show dissecting a crime scene with a dead Spartan from Halo 3. Titled: Halo 3 Homicide Detective created by Dutch West,. The talented film crew got the quality right on the production value, but not so much on the Halo lingo - ya dig? Commenter “Masna” had this to say in the Digg comments:
“However they needed to do a bit more fine tuning-
1. They called a plasma grenade a frag grenade.
2. IT’S NOT “FUSION CORE!!!” IT’S “FUSION COIL”
Whatever! It’s good, watch it:
Go digg it!
Thanks, Jesse
A 13-year-old kid figured out his dad’s security verification information and ordered a second card. Not content with just getting the card, he proceeded to run up a $30K bill a 360, Halo 3, delivered snack foods and a couple of hookers.
While that in itself is highly amusing, the cover story that the kids used is the best. The boys told everyone that they had won a recent World of Warcraft tournament and felt that call girls to play Halo was their way to celebrate. Geek knows no boundaries.
No word on what happened to the kid, after his parents found about about his spending spree, but as I think we can all say, better him than us.

I fired up the Metal Gear Online Beta last night just to check it out, and ended up playing for four hours strait. The game’s controls took a little getting used to, but are very tight. Character movement in the game seemed slow to me at first, as I’ve been playing a lot of Halo 3 lately, but as I played I came to appreciate the realistic pace. The graphics look great.
The “most fun” moments for me happened when I would see an enemy moving through the terrain and was able to successfully sneak up on him from behind. I got into some stand off situations with enemies in which we were both dancing around a set piece tossing grenades and trying to get the upper hand on one another. The gameplay works well.
On the critical side, there were a few connection issues, but nothing too serious. I never really got comfortable enough with the aiming mechanic, especially at close range. There was no voice chat, even though a few of us had microphone icons. And, the spawning was at times very unfriendly.
In the grand scheme of things, I’m left salivating even more for Metal Gear’s launch. I’ll be playing this beta as much as possible over the next few weeks. Before getting my hands on this thing, I had some doubt about whether they should be taking Metal Gear online. Now, I’m climbing onto the bandwagon and joining in on the fanboy chant.
For Legendary Map Pack owners, Bungie is hosting a “Legendary Brawl” Double XP weekend. Like all of their past Double XP weekends, playing on this ranked FFA BTB list will grant double the experience points.
Did you catch that?
Ranked. Free-for-all. Big Team Battle. So, if you’ve still got some Halo 3 achievements to finish off (like I do), then hop on and it’ll be some prime achievement whoring time!
Oh man, this is why I love Halo 3. Thanks for the physics, sticky grenades, vehicles, and gravity hammer, unfortunate events like this happens. So remember to be careful where you park your Warthog on Last Resort.

Today, word came from Evil Avatar, that there is a way to score the Legendary Map Pack for free. Of course, it will take spending money, which is funny when you are talking about spending money to get something free. Anyway, if you want to get the Legendary Map Pack for free, you just have to preorder Ninja Gaiden II at Circuit City. They in turn will give you a code that will allow you to download the maps.
There is one hiccup for serious fans (take note George). The code may not come for about a week from the time you preorder the game, so if you were itching to bring the pain on the new maps today, this deal may not work for you, but for most, this might be a no-brainer.
