Telltale Games have had a lot of success with taking familiar, licensed products and turning them into top notch adventure games. First they put out two successful seasons of Sam and Max, and then brought the red gloved Strongbad to both Wii and PC owners. Now they are taking on Wallace and Gromit, and Telltale sent over a few screens to show the progress of the upcoming title.
So far, Telltale looks to have been able to get the clay look right for the characters in Wallace and Gromit. One would expect that the game will feature some of the contraption building and exploration and discovery that is prevalent in the show. Click the jump for more photos.
Pendulo Studios sent over the first shots from their upcoming adventure title, Runaway: A Twist of Fate. Runaway: A Twist of Fate is the third game in the Runaway series, and picks up from where the last game left off. However, new fans of the series do not have to worry as the game can be played without having knowledge of the last two games. Runaway: A Twist of Fate allows players to control not only the main protagonist, Brian, but his companion in adventuring, Gina.
Several months ago, Telltale Games announced that they were going to bring their critical and commercially successful series, Sam and Max Season One, to the Wii. Since then, there have been some questions about when it would be released, and today a release date, along with a trailer and photos came into the Aeropause mailbox. Sam and Max will be dropping onto the Wii, October 7th, for the price of $29.99.
Also, if you pre-order the game early from Gamestop or Gamestop.com, you will get a bonus disc with behind the scenes information, wallpapers, trailers, concept art and lots more. Click the jump for some photos, and a press release.
Autumn Moon Studios has released a new trailer for “A Vampyre Story”, and I have to say that so far the game is looking top notch. Everything about this game screems old school adventuring fun, and it is nice to see a LucasArts veteran go back to the genre that made them famous beyond Star Wars.
After being in development hell for so long, it is nice to see this game shaping up well for an October release in Europe. Looks like a definite import for me unless they find a US distributor.
Long in development, and lacking a publisher, A Vampyre Story has now finished development, and today, picked up a publisher.
Ascaron Entertainment has picked up the title, and is looking to release the game on October 31st, fitting perfectly into the theme of the game.
Developed by Bill Tiller, of Lucasarts fame, and Autumn Moon Entertainment, A Vampyre Story stars Mona De Lafitte, a singer who is unwillingly brought into the world of vampires by Shrowdy Von Kiefer. Trapped in an existence that has no meaning for her, Mona decides to escape her confinement in Draxsylvania Castle, and become an opera singer in Paris.
A Vampyre Story is a traditional point and click style adventure game, with a lot of hand drawn animation for the game. Click the jump for the full press release.

Telltale Games has been crafting episodic adventure games for a few years now, starting with Bone and perfecting it with Sam and Max. Now, the team at Telltale has taken on a new franchise to bring to the gaming medium with Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People. The game looks to be another success for Telltale, with snappy writing; cleaver puzzles and picture perfect art style in comparison to the website. However, if you are not a fan of the animated web shorts, you might find yourself a little lost and on the outside looking in.
Telltale has been hard at work putting together the final touches on their Wii version of their successful franchise, Sam and Max. Yes, Season One will be on its way soon, and Emily over at Telltale sent us a new trailer for the game, as well as some screenshots you can look at after the jump. Also, if you are interested in freebies, Telltale is offering up anyone that subscribes to their newsletter before the end of July a free copy of Sam and Max: Ice Station Santa, the first game from the second season, on PC.
All of this appears to be in-game footage like it was in the PC, and so far it is looking great. Glad to see that they kept the graphics looking as good as they did when it came out on the PC. This one should be a no-brainer for any Wii owner that is looking for a good game, as it was a wonderful series on PC.
Benoît Sokal’s Paradise came to PCs in 2006, but received an average reception and ratings, never living up to the success that was had with the two Syberia games. Now, Paradise has returned, with an extensive amount of retooling and a newly christened, Last King of Africa.
Moving a game that was developed on the PC has worked surprisingly well, with the only major adjustment being the removal of the 3D action sequences, as they did not seem to work all that well on the DS. Dialog has also been tightened up, and cuts the length of the game down a bit.
Last King of Africa follows Anne Smith, a decendant of the last king of Africa, Maurania. Anne’s plane crashes, and while she is saved from the wreakage, she has lost her memory. You guide Anne Smith through the journey to gain her memory back and unravel the mystery of where she is at.
The Last King of Africa should ship by the end of 2008.
