Just a reminder, our Multi-plat Holiday Bonus Code Contest is about to end! This is the last weekend you can pepper our forum with your entry to win one of two pre-order bonus codes… either the God of War pack for LittleBigPlanet or the exclusive multiplayer maps for 007: Quantum of Sillyname.
This contest ends on January 4, so we’ll be selecting the winners very early next week! Head to this forum page for the rules and to see the ridiculous Haygood’s-balls-related entries that other Aeroreaders have already submitted. Shame, shame on them.
Additionally, don’t forget to send us your Best of 2008 nominations. This will be your last chance to push your 2008 fanboy favorites out there for everyone to complain about!
When Activision picked up the Bond franchise last year, a collective groan could be heard around the world, as everyone felt that Bond would be used as a commodity. Treyarch however, decided to take the Call of Duty engine which garnered high praise from the community for its great looks, and kick it up a notch for the famed martini drinking MI-6 agent in Quantum of Solace.
If you have LittleBigPlanet (PS3) or 007: Quantum of Solace (360) but you did not preorder them through GameStop due to moral objections to those punks breaking the seal on new games, you are in luck.
We’re running a teeny tiny contest to give away DLC codes for LittleBigPlanet’s God of War pack and the Quantum multiplayer map pack! To enter, just head to the official forum thread and come up with something, anything, that uses the initials of the contest’s title… the Multi-plat Holiday Bonus Code Contest!
To keep things easy, we’ll make the P and the second C optional. For example, you could submit: May Have Bargain Christmas Cesspool! Or My Pretend Huge Bear Craps. We just want to see an M-H-B-C in there. And make sure you mention which prize you want… you can enter separately for both, but you can only win ONE of them. Additionally, only forum posts will count, so if you post them in Intense Debate comments, you’re just wasting your time.
More details below, and the official forum thread is right here.
Well, for those in PC land, I cannot give you the big bang out of the gates that the PS3 and 360 have in Resistance 2 and Gears 2. If I try, all I can muster is Operation and CSI: NY. Both are surely entertaining titles in their own right, but can’t hold the jock strap for either of those games. However, beyond the first few days, we do have some pretty good titles coming to the PC in November, so hold on to your seat as we take you through the PC releases of November 2008 at the speed of Plaid (who gets the reference).
Last night, I finally got around to downloading the new James Bond: Quantum of Solace demo for the PC. This game came on my radar when it was shown off at E3 this year, but when I saw the pre-order price of $29.99 on the PC, I started to get cold feet thinking it was going to be a PS2 port to the PC, which has been done by a lot of companies as of late.Well, the game looks to be a 360 port of the game, and while it was fairly enjoyable to play at this point, there are a few issues that need to be cleaned up before it can be a great PC game.
Okay, I just got done watching this great game footage and the Quantum of Solace movie trailer, and I have to say that the new Bond game was a surprise for me. The action switches between first person and third person very smoothly, and the action seems very fluid. Add in a very well rendered Daniel Craig, and you have a recipie for success.
The strange thing is that there is no driving sequences in this game, which is a first for the Bond franchise in some time. You would think with owning Bizarre Creations, they could of added a kick ass driving sequence, but I guess the developers wanted to stay away from driving, as it has always been panned in past Bond games.
