Joe, Fourhman and Stephen are back for another rousing podcast full of game discussion and TV nostalgia. After discussing our games, and some of the New Years events that we held, we talked about the upcoming year and what might be in store for gamers in 2009. Check out our thoughts, predictions and needs for the new calendar year.

Our community corner stacks in a lot of questions, including our three favorite titles for a desert island stay, favorite TV shows, forum icons, and another marry/boff/kill question that is a little less controversial than last week. In the news, we have stories around Sony's definition of beta, a Skate 2 demo coming and two big celebs join the WiiFit crowd.

This week our bumper music comes from some of the great TV shows we recommended, including Airwolf, Sealab 2021, Firefly, V: The Series and Twin Peaks. The podcast is put together by the Aeropause Mixmaster, Stephen Munn, and his twin turntables of steel.

This week, it is a crazy, zany fun filled podcast as Joe, Fourhman, Stephen and Mike get together to talk shop about some of the stories that they thought were big for the year, as well as discussing what they were lucky enough to get for Christmas. Also, it was a first for us as we tried out video between the four of us. Let us know what you think of the podcast, because we were troubleshooting through some issues with this podcast.

We received a question from the ever reliable Jordan Snyder, who wants to know the age old answer to Marry/Boff/Kill and the subjects are Christmas, Hannukah and Festivus. Listen as we try to answer without getting into too much hot water with the religious crowd. We also have two great forum contests including the Best of 2008 and Holiday codes for Quantum of Solace (360) and Little Big Planet (PS3). Our first Aeropause Gaming night was small, but now we have some t-shirts to give away, and who knows, if enough people get involved, there might be other prizes.

Then we look at the hot news of the week including the makers of Eve Online possibly having to leave Iceland, which has all the parents on the show going over the exports of Iceland, which include Bjork and Lazy Town. And if you do not know of Lazy Town, you do not know what you are missing.

This week our bumper music come from Lazy Town. If you have not heard enough about the show at this point, this should be the clincher. The podcast is put together by the Aeropause Mixmaster, Stephen Munn, and his twin turntables of steel.

Well, Fourhman and Joe are joined by another Munn this week, and unfortunately for us, it is Stephen, not Olivia. In all seriousness, it is a triumphant return for Stephen, now done with school, and hoping to join us on a regular basis. The title refers to our attempt to use video in the podcast, only to meet with a no-win scenario (KHAN!!!!!). This week we look at the art of unfinished games, and the responsibility for game developers in fixing them. Does a company have a responsibility to fix a game that they deliver to market broken. You would think yes, but as we progress in our discussion, we point out many occasions where game devs have left gamers sitting in the cold waiting for a fix.

We have some great community questions including one that caught us a bit off-guard, but I want to thank Jordan Snyder (two times I have gotten it right) and william745 for providing us with some great questions. Make sure you are heard by contributing to the podcast with quetsions. In the news side of the business, we look at how Sony seems to screw its most loyal market, EA Games moving into the Steam neighborhood, more company layoffs and closures, and how to convert 7 euros into other currencies. Pure gave us a naughty word list you might want to look at (very NSFW), as well as The King launching is own flame broiled, scented cologne, and no it is not a joke.

Fourhman and Joe are joined by the our man in New Jersey, Paul Munn, to discuss all thing great and wonderful in gaming. Our topic this week looks at Wii Music and if we in the gaming industry are giving the game a fair shake, or are we dismissing it automatically, due to its less than stellar presentation at E3. Is is really a challenging game, or has Nintendo been reduced to drinking their own Kool-Aid?

We had a couple of great questions this week from the community including how we got into game writing, as well as someone wanting to know what games would run on his soon to be Apple Macbook. Zack, not sure if your parents listen to the podcast but if they do, you are probably not getting that laptop anymore!

Finally we look at some of the news from the last week, including the horror and abomination that is Grand Theft Auto IV on the PC, as well as some companies not paying their employees, games being patched against cheating and even watching Guitar Freaks get schooled again by Guitar Hero.

Music this week is from Revolution Void, and can be found at www.revolutionvoid.com. The podcast is put together by the Aeropause Mixmaster, Stephen Munn, and his twin turntables of steel.

Fourhman and Joe are back for another rousing discussion of all things video gaming. From the title of this podcast, you might thing we have gone all commercial, but in fact, it leads into our main point of discussion this week, which is the recent buzz around used game sales. Yes, we look at some of the comments that certain CEO's have made, including the "charging for the last level" thoughts from Mike Capps.

We had some great questions this week from the community, including Jordan Snyder asking about our most memorable Christmas moments that were gaming related. Jrittmeyer asked us about the cheapest and most expensive games that we bought, and yes the King is involved. We also threw in some great news stories, adding our own two cents.

Its the Fourhman and Joe show again this week, with Fourhman bringing coverage of the Video Game Expo from Philly. While the show was on the smaller side and had none of the main console companies there, Fourhman did find lots of freebies and 30 player DDR. Also we dabble with some Christmas ideas for the gamer.

Jonathan Snyder sentin a question about who we think might get into the console fray beyond the three that are out there right now. Fourhman and Joe both felt the field was already crowded and could not really support another player in the field. In the news, we talk about Tomb Raider reviews, Gamestop revenue and new DLC for GTA IV, along with other items.

We have a extra large edition of the podcast this week, bursting at the seems with people and content. First off, we were joined this week by Julian "Rabbit" Murdoch of Gamers with Jobs fame. Along with our special guest, we also had Fourhman, Paul, Joe, and newly minted contributor Jeremy, who we blame everything on, because that's how the veterans roll. The format is a little different than in past podcasts, because we were just riffing off of all the games we had played and just having a good old time. We also covered a bit of news along the way and enjoyed some refreshments along the way. So sit back and enjoy a great podcast.

Beyond that, they look at the state of gaming in an economic downturn. Does an industry that is normally considered recession-proof, make it through today's economic climate unscathed, or will there be some losers in the gaming sector. Is the economy affecting some of our purchasing decisions? Also, how did the discussion turn into a rant on Wii Music.

This week was a slow week for community news, but we are putting a new focus on our forums and would love to have you visit. Also, be aware that we are building a backlog of some of our articles, so if you send in a suggestion, it might take a bit before it is used, so we don't burn through all of our entries. In news we talk about The Beatles getting their own music game and how that affects Rock Band 2, EA laying off 6% of its workforce and Circuit city getting the Gasface from Sony, along with some other stories.

Music this week is from Revolution Void, and can be found at www.revolutionvoid.com. The podcast is put together by the Aeropause Mixmaster, Stephen Munn, and his twin turntables of steel.

Tonight it is just Koss and Joe, but they cover a ton of stuff, including a plateful of community goodness. Our topic discusses online griefing and whether or not it is a good or bad thing. We delve into some of the better incidents of online griefing, including former editor at Games for Windows Magazine, Shawn Elliott and his great exploits. Also, we look at a bizarre incident that happened to Koss when he was playing an online game years ago. Our community section was huge this week with questions from Pacis, Jrittmayer and Paintball745, asking about mascots, game characters as president and whether we subscribe to Qore. Two new iTunes reviews dropped giving us 4 and 5 stars, and finally we recognize some of the articles on the site from the past week.

In the News, we have Far Cry 2 suffering from widescreenitis, the worst kept secret in the gaming industry about Bioware and KOTOR, Trophy Whores getting another game to go out and buy, and best of all, E for All is gone.

Koss, Fourhman and Joe come to the table to discuss all things digital ownership, wondering how much of what you buy on your consoles and PC do you own. What happens to your games that you buy through the marketplace when the new consoles come out. The discussion also looks at the idea of download caps on things you buy, currently in use in the Sony online video store and the Electronic Arts digital store.

We also have a ton of community news including some new reviews and a question about how we got our online nicknames. In the news we talk about the Soulcalibur 4 DLC (duh), a possible new Syndicate game and the Motorstorm 2 demo, to name a few topics.

This week, Stephen, Fourhman, Koss and Joe are back in the mix in a podcast that was issue free for a change.
This week, we looked at the two big conventions going on, Tokyo Game Show and Blizzcon, and picked some of our favorite topics from those shows. Some of the highlights include a No More Heroes sequel, new footage of the 360 and PS3 version of Castlevania, a date for the 360 dashboard update, and Lets Tap the game you control with a box.

We also gave much props to George Walker, one of our writers who is taking a break from writing to spend some time with his family...who are we kidding, it is to get the rest of those Legendary achievements in Halo 3. Seriously George, good luck, and we'll leave the light on. In news we had advertisements from the Obama campaign in Burnout Paradise, Fallout 3 PC specs and some Castlevainia pre-order goodness, along with other items.

This week, our bumper music comes from Castlevania, which is a Konami brand.

Aeropodcast #52.5: Give It Up For the Mixmaster

Okay, I am not sure how he did it, but Stephen managed to salvage what we could give him into a podcast this week. I am not sure how he did it considering he did not even have an outline to work off of. Thank you stephen for going above and beyond the call of podcast mixing duty for this podcast.

Okay, we had a discussion over whether it is relavent for game companies, specifically Nintendo in this case to re-release a game title as new, when it has already come out on a previous system. Pikman 2 and ChibiRobo are two of the games that are planned for the new "Playable on Wii" label. The games will feature new controls, but other than that, they sound to be faithful recreations of the original Gamecube games.

We had another review this week as well from DrSuper23 and some tantalizing news items, including the Xbox 360 selling more units in Japan than the PS3? The apocalypse ensues.

Our bumper music is provided by Revolution Void, and can be found on their website, www.revolutionvoid.com.

Another week, another podcast, and while the normal gang of Joe, Fourhman and Stephen are here to discuss gaming, and it seems that their kids want in on the action as well this week, making for a unique podcast experience.

When not working through childus interruptus, the guys discuss how certain games have evoked an emotional response from them while playing. During the segment, we find out that all three of the hosts have some soft spots for their favorite titles, and we even find out that one of them got a little verklempt at the end of Speed Racer.

The podcast also got a new review on iTunes from BilltheWill, who really enjoys the podcast, as well as all the Office Space references. Pacis asks our feelings on Tron the movie, as well as its soon to happen sequel TR2N (editor note: none of the hosts were aware at the time that the sequel was actually happening). Paintball745 asks us about our favorite movies, which prompts a discussion on their worst movie experiences.

The podcast was engineered by Mixmaster Stephen on the digital wheels of steel. Our bumper music this week comes from the game Mega Man Powered Up, a Capcom title.

Paul and Fourhman join Joe this week as we head into our 50th anniversary show. Actually, we are not having a huge celebration, but we do have some warm congrats from JC Fletcher of nintendowiifanboy.com and dsfanboy.com and tinycartridge.com, CrazyKinux at crazykinux.com, Ian Mikutel of thewiire.com, Lloyd Hannesson from Nukoda.com, the DSLife podcast and WiiSpot podcast, and a final congrats from the gang at Touch of Gaming podcast.

Our topic of discussion this week is where we buy games, and where we have had good and bad experiences. We look at Gamestop, Trade and Play, ebay, local shops, big box locations like Toys R US, Target and Best Buy, and even some local chains like Fry's Electronics in the western US. Pacis sent us over the question of what music we like, with the whole crew ranging in different directions. Finally we have our news and our famous "What are We Playing" segment.

Thanks as always to Mixmaster Stephen and his wheels of steel for mixing the podcast this week, and to The Video Games Live: Volume One CD, which provided us some transition clips. Tracks used in order included Castlevania Rock (LIVE), Tetris Piano Op. 1, Halo Suite, God of War Montage, Warcraft Suite, and Kingdom Hearts, and can be found at your local music store and iTunes. Also, we have some interludes from Diablo II, which is produced and owned by Activision Blizzard.

Stephen, Fourhman and Joe take a jump in space to the ISS Ishimura to visit with Andrew Green of Electronic Arts and discuss some of the finer points of Dead Space. We get a little primer on what makes Dead Space tick, mixed in with other details of the game and its development process. We also discuss www.noknownsurvivors.com, which tells the immense backstory to all the info used to flesh out the universe and the characters.

Also, we were grateful for all the user contributions, we had questions about our day jobs, what our first game platform was, favorite game and even if we could have some community gaming nights. Fear Hunter 102 asked for some help with gaining access to the clock tower in Dead Rising, and we read our two new iTunes reviews, including one that demanded compensation for being the 10 review!

We also wanted to put a link to the Resident Evil Children's activity book, courtesy of The Minus World at http://the-minusworld.com/2008/09/11/the-resident-evil-activity-book-for-kids/

Stephen, Fourhman and Joe are back for another non-star studded episode of the Aeropodcast, and this time they are talking about the power of the exclusive title, or lack there of as the case may be. The guys look at whether there is still a need of an exclusive, or if they still support a console. Also is the idea of an exclusive more of a fanboy notion than anything else.

Also, we lool at some of the site items for the week, as well as a gem of a review on iTunes. We love this one because it is so 1337. In the news we look at the Xbox price cut, free Red Alert, Take Two and Nintendo's love fest along with many other items. So enjoy and keep the emails, comments and reviews flowing.

<itunes:subtitle>Aeropodcast #48: Can joo Haz Exclusive</itunes:subtitle>

<itunes:summary>Stephen, Fourhman and Joe are back for another non-star studded episode of the Aeropodcast, and this time they are talking about the power of the exclusive title, or lack there of as the case may be. The guys look at whether there is still a need of an exclusive, or if they still support a console. Also is the idea of an exclusive more of a fanboy notion than anything else.

The trio break down the three major console marketplaces, talking the good, bad and ugly for each one. Find out which will work the best for you, and who has put together the best one of the bunch.

This podcast Will have you thinking of the band Crowded House, as there is a full house of podcasters this weekend on the Aeropodcast. Along with Joe, we had Fourhman, Paul, Stephen and packing in a special guest by the name of "Hey You!". Actually, our guest was Flynn De Marco, of Gaygamer.net fame.

This week we discuss if there is a difference between the media and blog sites like ourselves. Are blogs becoming the new media, or does a media outlet have a standing of professionalism that stands out among the many blogs trying to reach that level.

Also, somehow, we end up on the Olympics looking at all things like youthful gymnasts, table tennis, badmitton, track and field, and of course, horrible Olympic games on the consoles.

We also delve into the week's news including some neat stuff with Animal Crossing, Cammie Dunaway from Nintendo apologizing for the Nintendo E3 press event again, and a new hunk of plasic coming in your Guitar Hero World Tour box.

Aeropodcast #45: Fourhman's Ode to the 70's

Stephen, Joe and Fourhman are together again for a festivus of games, news and even some 70's goodness.

Our focus this week is on developers getting a bit sensitive, or maybe reviewers being a little to cynical when it comes to their games, and the criticism they may receive. Our targets for the segment are Dennis Dyack invading NeoGAF, Jonathan Blow and his defense over the pricing of Braid, and last is Luc Bernard and his vocal opposition to Destructoid's review of Eternity's Child. Is this a trend for developers to get into the fray and defend their product, or maybe reviewers are becoming more jaded as more shovelware is tossed upon them, looking to be reviewed. We also ask everyone to visit the show notes and check out the ultimate in developer/press battles, which was Derek Smart vs everyone in defense of Battlecruiser 3000AD.

We also got another great review on iTunes from Pax Rabbit, brought up some great reviews from the site, scathing commentary from the readers, and a nice helping of gaming news. So get out there and listen already, Dumbass.

This week, its just Joe and Joe on the podcast, so what could go wrong. The main topic this week, is real life imitating art, as we look at the recent rash of crimes being blamed or based on video games. Is is a problem with the game industry, excuses or just lack of parenting in the house? Joe and Joe delve into the issue and find some answers while dragging out more questions.

We read two more positive reviews from iTunes, Joe talks about being stranded in Redwood City during the first night of the Dead space event, and that we sometimes have to say no to tips sent to the email address when they are derived from stories that we started.

In news, GTA IV finally comes to the PC, Goldeneye stuck in XBLA purgatory, The Favre trade and Madden, Okami coming back as a PS2 Greatest Hits title and so much more.

The podcast gains an extra man this week, when Stephen joins Joe, Joe and George and lets just say that this podcast goes anything but smoothly at times. This week, we discuss game franchises that need to be retired, reworked or brought back from a deep slumber. Some of the titles include Starfox, Tomb Raider, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. Galaga Legends is mentioned, and causes Joe to blow a gasket.

We also talk about some gaming news, including the PS3 orange Box open letter, Capcom crying PC piracy foul and the PS3 Home beta coming sooner than later. Also we manage to mangle the all mighty Metal Gear Solid franchise, and Gamecock becomes a dirty word on our show.

This week, George, Joe and the other Joe are back, and talking about a topic that is probably near and dear to a gamer's heart. Gamers and the crazy things that they do for their games. Is it addiction, or just good fun. Joe took the cake with his mention of taking days off of work to spend in-game holidays with his Animal Crossing game. And here we thought our intervention would have to be for George, who had to be dragged away from World of Warcraft five minutes before recording. While we have fun, we do have to realize that if you are at an Internet cafe playing for 80 hours straight, you might want to look into therapy.

We also discussed our current contests, and news including Microsoft finally realizing that they cannot charge for online play on the PC, Nintendo's apology to the hardcore gamers, and Kaz taking a bullet rather than taking an exclusive.

Stand out games for some of us included Fallout 3, Little Big Planet, Resistance 2, Final Fantasy XIII, the lack of the Halo announcement from Bungie and even Dance Cheer Squad USA. Well, maybe not that last one, but the rest are all great looking at this point.

This week, the summary is going to be short and sweet, just like Crasins. First off, Stephen and Joe take the time machine to last week’s podcast for a little more Rock Band 2 vs. Guitar Hero World Tour debate, before coming back to the present to discuss E3 predictions. Also see the fun mix of children + plus Crasins x a podcast = great recording moments.

This week, the Stephen the mixmaster shows his skills on the mic, as he takes on hosting duties this week. Paul, Joe Fourhman and Stephen have their own "thrilla in Manilla", as they put Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour up against the microscope to see what looks like a better value. The guys also take a focus on the new 2.40 PS3 firmware update, as well as the bricking of several PS3 machines after the update. Paul is happy with trophy support. XMB works but there was some issues about the speed of the XMB loading.

Also, there is mention of Podcast Beyond podcast #50 and their comments on the PS3 bricking, Chrono Trigger returns, and Venom Games closing shop, right after Don King Prize Fighter came out.

Welcome everyone to another fun filled episode of the Aeropodcast. This week, we have everything from Paul mitigating marital damage from the purchase of a new, sleek PSP, Joe dropping more obscure references, and Stephen bringing us the evil chord of Windows 3.1 and Zelda pirates.

Our topic this week covers imports and how each system handle games from outside regions. Also, have any of the Aeropause writers bought imports and how has that process gone. We also had a winner for the "Select a DS Game for Joe to Play" contest, and that winner was Jeremy Tauzin. The game that garnered the most votes is Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. We also have a sprinkling of the big news topics for the week.

Thanks as always to Stephen, for mixing this on the turntables of steel, and visit www.revolutionvoid.com to get downloads of our podcast music.

Hello, howdy and aloha. We are back for another week of broadcasting some gaming goodness, while wondering when the Atari notice of lawsuit is coming for Joe Fourhman.

Some of the items hit on this week are how we as reviewers and writers can sometimes feel pressure from a PR firm to get a review out, or with a particular score, whether the pressure is indirect or bluntly direct. Also we have some news on penis monsters in the Spore creator, the ESRB helping game developers hide games before they are announced, and more Star Wars games. But these include using the Wiimote as a lightsaber, which is what the kid in us have always been looking to play since we were little kids.

With EVE Online celebrating its 5th birthday recently, we decided to take a closer look at this MMO that has slowly grown to be one of the bigger MMORPG games on the market behind World of Warcraft. To help Joe and Paul with the discussion, we had CK from The Drone Bay Podcast come on to give us the lowdown on the game, its nuiances, and how their podcast can help beginners get a grasp on EVE without a lot of endless frustration. We also went over our newest review on iTunes, by JRittmayer, and we went over our two contests and some of the week's news. Props to Paul for toughing out the podcast while on vacation, as well as for our Mix Master, Stephen Munn.

This week, we decided to discuss the Metal Gear Solid series with one of our new writers, Joe Fourhman. He tried to explain to Joe, the many faces of Snake. Stephen talked about the steal of a deal he found at a yard sale, in regards to the original Metal Gear Solid for $8.00. We also talked about the ongoing DS contest and the fact that we added one more title to the mix in Professor Layton. This week's podcast was put together by our Master Mixer, Stephen Munn.

We are back for another week of views, mayhem and all around chaos as Stephen, Paul, Joe and newcomer Levi tackle the week's topics, news and our only and latest review on iTunes.

After a discussion about what we are playing, including a digg on Paul about his love of Elite (it was a great game Paul, I am behind you on this one), we started off the show discussing the hype that Grand Theft Auto IV is getting and if a game can be subject to overhype. While Joe was experiencing burnout with the constant news story that were posted on every site (including ours, oh sweet irony), Paul looked at the fact that it was the media hyping the game, not Rockstar. We also moved to the butchering of the Japanese language by US gamers, with the rise of Japanese translated titles, like Okami, which is really pronounced O - kami.

We went over the March NPD numbers, which still show Nintendo printing gobs of money with a total of 1.3 million units between the Wii and the DS. From there, the rest of the consoles showed parity, with the 360 inching ever so slightly in front of the PS3. Nintendo also took the top spot in video game sales as well, with Super Smash Brothers Brawl selling a cool 2.7 million units. It was also surprising to still see Call of Duty 4, pulling in big sales five months after release.

We announced our first review on iTunes which had JBIR giving us a one star review, stating that we deleted his first review. Guess he thinks we work for Apple, because apparently he thinks we had his review deleted, which we do not have the power to do. We appreciate all reviews, good and bad, because it tells us what is good about the show and what needs improvement.

Finally we looked at a few notable news stories for the week, including a Wii Stripping game coming for te WiiFit board, Kojima is disappointed with the way that Metal Gear Solid turned out, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe minus the fatalities and blood, and finally Paul gets excited for an announced sequel to Majesty.

As always, make sure to review us on iTunes, and then head over and Digg the podcast. Also, if you have any tips, questions, trivia, suggestons on good coffee blends, or maybe just to tell us we suck or rule, email us at tips@aeropause.com. Also, if you want to hear our new act, Levi the Chipmunk, just listen all the way through the podcast. It is a great way to finish your debut on a podcast.

Aeropodcast #28: Guilty Pleasures and Ginger Lynn

George and Stephen joined Joe this week with an Aeropodcast that was all over the map, going everywhere from politics in games, to full motion video games, to Daikatana and at one point working in Ginger Lynn and Mark Hamill references.

Today we looked at all of our guilty pleasures and why we are driven to them. Immediately, Joe lost all of his PC street cred when he admitted to secretly enjoying Daikatana due to it being “so bad it is funny”. Stephen talked about the Megaman franchise and enjoying almost all of those games. George explained how he felt that World of Warcraft was a guilty pleasure for him, because he can’t explain why he still plays it. He also brought up Hellgate: London, which prompted a bit of heckling.

We then turned to politics, with this being an election year in the US, and decided to look at the candidate’s stands on video games. The two liberal candidates feel that there might be some need for modification to the ratings system, while John McCain feels the system is good now, and should just be monitored. We also tried to classify whether this is a liberal or conservative issue, but we all agreed with Stephen’s point that it all depends on the individual’s definition of liberal or conservative.

William H had the correct answer to our trivia question, and he has won a copy of Audiosurf, Half Life 2 and Half Life 2: Episode 1. Eric Kranz also had a question about his ongoing gaming PC build. He had some issues with temperatures and wanted a good heatsink that he could put in that would not require him to remove the motherboard. Joe recommended an Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7.

Aeropodcast #27: We're Boring, But Wombat Makes Us Highbrow

In the bottom half of our twin bill podcast post today, we have Wombat from CheapAssGamer.com as our guest of honor, joining a packed room, that included George, Paul, Joe and Stephen, back from his hibernation chamber.

Our discussion started off with the state of games in the British media and whether it is much 'ado about nothing or is this a trend that will make the sale of games more difficult on both sides of the pond. All of us looked at is as more of an issue with the overbearing British tabloid press, rather than an issue with games.

Moving forward, we also looked at the issue of the save game dilemma and the fact that the ability to save anywhere, or clear and concise save checkpoints are starting to disappear from today's games. Mass Effect, Patapon and PC ports were the focus of the problem.

Wombat then gave us a great summary on the Legend of Frank discussion that started on the CAGcast a few weeks ago. He also took the time to let us know how our show notes read about as well as Tolstoy's "War and Peace".

We also gave a shout out to Eric Kranz, who took our advice and built a kick ass gaming PC. Congrats and thanks for the feedback. We also have our trivia contest floating out there with the following question:

There have been seven games in the Leisure Suit Larry franchise. However, Sierra skipped the fourth installment in the series, going from Part III to Part V. What was the reasoning behind not having a fourth installment in the series?
The person that gets the answer right will get a copy of Audiosurf, Half Life 2 and Half Life 2: Episode I via Steam.

Recorded: Saturday April 5th, 2008.

In the first of a back to back double feature, we have George and Joe together for this week's podcast. This week, the hot button issue was Xbox Live and the growing calls to make the service free of charge. In the larger picture, Joe and George decide to look at all the consoles and their online service, while also taking a look at Steam and Gametap on the PC, to see if what they offer compare to what Microsoft puts forth for your $50 a year.

We also decided to change the trivia question for our giveaway. Since no one could get the total answer to the question put forth by George, we decided to throw out an easier question:

It's George and Joe at the controls again, this week. We discuss the merits of genre-benders like Halo Wars and Tiberium before turning our attention to exactly what Phil Harrison is wondering with his recent move to Atari. Not-so-fond memories of Atari are shared by all.

The contest for Audiosurf continues. George sweetens the deal by throwing in Steam copies of Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One.

Eric Kranz writes in for guidance from our very own PC gaming guru. Joe gives the rundown on what to look for in a new $1500 gaming rig.

In other news, we cover all the bases from Burnout to Bully, and Sims 3 to Tabula Rasa. We also give our +5 Vorpal Long Sword of Tribute to Geek Master Gary Gygax.

If you have any feedback or questions for the podcast, make sure to email us at tips@aeropause.com.

Aeropodcast #24 - The CheapyD And Tai Edition

Joe takes the hosting reins this week, Paul comes along for the ride, and the we are pleased to have rolled out our virtual red carpet not just for CheapyD of CheapAssGamer.com but his cute gamer son Tai too. Not to worry the carpet is fully machine washable if Tai drops his bottle.

Cheapy's days of PlayStation 3 gaming with his Xbox 360 down for the count are almost over but we don't let Microsoft off the hook for their high failure rates. We also figure out just how well known are Microsoft's reliability problems among the general public. EA's $2 Billion offer for Take Two, Cheapy's upcoming trip back to the US, and Cheapy's 100% Mac computing environment all made it onto our table.

We also talked about Phil Harrison jumping ship from Sony, Activision's ridiculous Guitar Hero 3 mono scandal, and we get some perspective on the long road Sony has taken to bringing vibration-enabled controllers back to the US. Cheapy also -- thanks to the Dual Shock 3 already being out in Japan -- filled us in on whether the Dual Shock 3 really makes a difference for him for PS3 gaming or not.

Also don't miss Cheapy revealing one of the biggest and probably most overlooked reasons for the Xbox 360's continued success and how little Tai is ratcheting up the difficulty level for him as he plays games during the day. As gamer dads as well I think Joe and myself can only say: you ain't seen nothin' yet.

Aeropodcast #23 - The Post-GDC Edition

George and Joe break down some of the major announcements of GDC, such as Gears of War 2. Surprisingly, rumors of APB's death have been greatly exaggerated. The MMO is very much alive and well. The subject of the PC Gaming Alliance is brought up. Will it be effective without a few tiny players like... VALVE... or MICROSOFT?

Joe offers up a copy of Audiosurf to anyone who can answer this week's trivia question. The Team Fortress 2 server is also up at IP 8.3.5.11:27015. However, be warned as Joe appears to have super fantastic LPB technology.

In news, discussion turns to Project RedLime, Goldeneye for XBLA (on again off again?), and Peter Moore's vision for the Madden franchise.

If you have any feedback or questions for the podcast, make sure to email us at tips@aeropause.com.

Aeropodcast #22 - The Pre-GDC Edition

Hot off the digital presses comes the 22nd Aeropause Podcast from Joe and Paul complete with news coverage of Blu-ray's win, Mass Effect coming to PC, yet another PS3 game needing a 5-gig install, and Patapon's first review at IGN. Queue us up in your media player of choice because GDC hits this week and we've got some hopes and dreams about what we will and won't see to share as well.

Under topics we hit on January's surprising NPD numbers, Epic Games saying PC gaming is "falling apart" and Joe's response, and the odd swirl of rumors and evidence that Microsoft and Sony have something up their sleeves for GDC. Nintendo, it seems, is strangely quiet. Too quiet.

If you have any feeback or questions for the podcast, make sure to email us at tips@aeropause.com.

Aeropodcast #21 - The "Sally Rega Rebo" Edition

Paul is joined by Joe and George this week as we tackle several topics for the week. First off was a discussion about the broken Lost Planet demo that was pulled from the Playstation store. Seems that the demo would not allow anyone to play the game online. When people would attempt to get into a multiplayer game, they would be greeted with a message that said they could not get into a game. Joe mentioned having the same issue with Guitar Hero III on the 360.

We turn our discussion to Burnout Paradise and the formation of two camps around the game. One side is really enjoying the new style of gameplay, but the other side is wishing that this game was like the older versions of Burnout. Joe looked at it from the perspective that it might be more enjoyable for people that have not played a Burnout game before, but veterans of the series may not be able to enjoy the game. It was a consensus decision that we all think a restart feature would be a great addition to the game, as Paul and George hate the thought of having to drive across the city to redo the race. During this topic we find out that Paul loves his stats.

We looked at Ageia being acquired by Nvidia, and what this means to the Ageia software and hardware. We all feel that there are some cool ways that the software could be used in the future by Nvidia, including using extra cores for physics processing, and even putting the chips in a Nvidia based motherboard.

Joe discusses how he got out of a speeding ticket while listening to the Jan 16th Games for Windows pod
