Am I the only one that is tired of Favre's retirement/coming back antics. How many times will people be accepting of him and this behavior. More importantly, does this tarnish everything that he has built for his football legacy. I would think that it has, but maybe I am in the minority. All one has to do is look back to people like Joe Namath and his last woeful year with the Rams.

I really don't care what he does. I can understand that he's been going through some hard times the past couple of years. Football is his life, and that career might be winding down. If he wants to and feels fit to play, I see he should continue.

  3. Yeah, but do you really want to watch someone go out there and look like a shell of his former self. Too many players stay past their prime. Look, I bleed Dolphin Orange and Teal, but I will be the first to admit that Marino stayed one year too long. To think he went out in a 62-7 playoff loss, and in one of his worst performances as a pro, is disappointing.

I was young, but remember how disappointed my dad was with Namath, hobbling around on the field with a Rams team that was less than subpar. How about Montana with the Chiefs, Emmitt Smith with the Cardinals or McMahon at the six teams he went to after the Bears. It was all tarnish on their reputations.

Why can't anyone take the Jim Brown or Barry Sanders route. I loved watching Barry run on Sundays, and it made me a closet fan for Detroit, but he decided he had been through enough and walked, at the top of his game. Same with Jim Brown. Nine years in the league, and he said, I want to leave at the top and while I still have my health.

I get that he thinks he can still play, but their is a point where your mind may be sharp, but your body cannot hold up to the promises. it is an inevitable fact.

I don't think it matters what any of the fans think as long as he wants to keep playing. And, let's face it, Brett Favre is still way better than a huge number of NFL quarterbacks.

I say an injury takes him down by week six.

  6. All I have to say is I'm not drafting him in my FF league.

If he likes playing the game so much, he should start up an "oldies" league and play there.

I'm from Wisconsin, and I can tell you that this does tarnish everything that he has built for his legacy. I can understand that the guy wants to play, and seeing him go to the Jets wasn't all that painful. But Being a Packer fan and seeing him go to our neighbors and our enemies... it's pushing my tolerance for him.

  8. While Green Bay plays Minnesota first on Monday, October 5th, I am more interested when he has to go to Green Bay on Sunday November 1st. The idea of him going on to the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field in a uniform that is not Green and Yellow does not sit well with me as a football fan.

Of course, it probably won't matter much, as he will be injured at that point, and struggling with his walker as he tries to move about the sidelines.

I hope he goes out to Lambeau and kicks ass. If he's still got it, he should rub it in Green Bay's face.

After watching him for the last eight weeks of the season with the Jets, I realized that he doesn't have it.
