    Alright, here's the skinny. I've saved up about $200 to spend on whatever I want. That's all well and good but there's only one problem: I don't know what to spend it on. I'm going to list the three options that I've been mulling over below.

    Keep saving and buy games: There's no such thing as too many good video games. With great games starting to come out in August and not stop until March, it's going to be hard to play every great game coming out, even with my birthday and Christmas.

    Buy an iPod Touch: This is what I initially began saving my money for, but I'm not positive anymore. It would be nice to have a device that I can use all over the house to listen to my many podcasts, while going on Twitter, Facebook, AIM, browsing the porn web, playing Peggle, etc.

    Wait and hope that iPhone comes to Verizon: This option popped into my head after Aeropause's own Paul Munn Twittered that his co-worker claimed that he saw a "iPhone Coming to Verizon in January 2010." This is basically like my iPod Touch wants, only better. This way, I wouldn't have to carry my iPod AND my phone everywhere. The problem is...this is totally a rumor. It's a no-brainer that iPhone would eventually come to Verizon, but it could be January 2010....or 2012...

    So, what do you think, people?

    I would not say that the iPhone showing up on other carriers is a no brainer. Here's a simple list why:

    1) Cell phones are NOT always interchangeable. Each carrier has a section of RF frequency set aside for their communication. These ranges vary between carrier, and also by communication type (2.5G, 3G, 4G, etc). The iPhone currently only has a modem for 2.5G/3G on the AT&T spectrums, and some of T-Mobiles. The same basic communication type (GSM) is used by the other carriers and, as necessary, the other frequency ranges have been added. Verizon and Sprint/Nextel use what is known as CDMA and it requires a different modem for communication. Now, there are modems that can do all of them, but I don't see Apple re-spinning their phone anytime soon just to change the modem. Also, Verizon would probably want to gimp the iPhone's features as they have with Blackberry's, Nokia's, Palm's, etc; and, they probably want a slice of Apple's revenue for games.

    2) This is Apple. They play how they want to play. They own the court and the ball. AT&T already spent a chunk of change for having the phone to themselves, so you can bet they'll keep owning it for as long as they can.

    3) Verizon was offered it in the beginning and turned it down. I doubt Apple would come running to them. However vice versa could have occurred. Problem is since they already spurned Apple once, their not a company to look the other way.

    I would not hold your breath for a Verizon iPhone.

    If you want an easy portable device for podcasts: your current cell phone could do it. Otherwise, grab yourself a Sansa off Woot! for $20 and have plenty of space for your podcasts.

    If podcasts were the only thing I was interested in, I'd just keep my iPod and PSP. The reason I'm interested in the iPod Touch is for all of the apps and games that I use all around the house while I'm listening to podcasts.

    Well, if you listen to our very own Mr. Fourhman, he would tell you that the iTouch and iPhone are not gaming devices. I have heard the rumors from my Verizon rep at work that a "not an iPhone but really its an iPhone" device are suppose to show up on the Verizon service sometime next year. I am hoping that is fake if only because I do not want to have to help my boss with the learning curve of the device.

    That said, looking at late 2009 and the first quarter of 2010, you will see a shit-ton of games coming out. I mean 2010 looks more stacked up than Christmas this year, so I would say save for the onslaught starting in September.

    Alrighty, so Apple's September event is taking place tomorrow, and it has been heavily rumored that they are updating their iPod Touch line. Depending on when the device comes out, I'll either use my money for that or spend my money on games (and use birthday/Christmas money for the iPod). As of right now, I think games are more of a priority, though.

    Yeah, there is a ton of stuff coming out this fall, and even more in the first three months of 2010. Also, you asked about Alpha Protocol, and since Obsidian is 20 miles from my house, I am trying to get a tour of the office and a bag of swag for a giveaway.

    Fuck you, Apple. How do they put a camera and microphone in the Nano and not in the Touch? Wow... Looks like more games for Jordan!

    I just ordered Batman: Arkham Asylum (for PS3) and The Beatles: Rock Band (for 360). Some other games I'll have to keep in mind as I make a last purchase:

    -Alpha Protocol
    -Borderlands
    -Uncharted 2
    -Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time
