Planet Red Ring

(9 posts)
  1. NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope has discovered the biggest but never-before-seen ring around the planet Saturn.

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory said Tuesday that the ring lies at the far reaches of the Saturnian system, and its orbit is tilted 27 degrees from the planet's main ring plane.

Holy crap - the planet Saturn is powered by an Xbox 360!

    RED RING'd!!!!1

Sorry, Microsoft fanboys. Saturn has failed...and you can't blame Sega, this time.

  2. Hey, all Saturn has to do is send itself to McAllen, TX and it will get fixed in a jiffy.

I bet those rings collect a lot of dust, though, so it could be powered by a Wii.

  5. I play my Wii literally every night. That bad boy's shiny and dust-free. Not sure what's wrong with everyone else's attention spans, but I'm going to bet it's years of Halo and Red Bull that have infected you with that nasty case of Gamer's ADD.

(Nah-uh! It's because the games are bad/the graphics are bad/there are better games on the other systems/I'm excited about Natal/Home's really cool. There, you don't have to respond. I'm sure it was one or a combo of those.)

    A) Most games are bad
    B) The graphics can be good
    C) There are better games on other systems
    D) I'm not excited about Natal, or Sony's Wand, or the Wii Remote
    E) Home blows

  7. A) Agreed. That's all systems, though. And, to me, the Wii has enough must-have, exclusive titles to make it the one for me.

    B) No, they can't. They can pretend to be. I own that. They're only ever passable, at best...relying heavily on style.

    C) Subjective, really. We certainly don't enjoy the same games/genres. But I will say I don't feel driven by anything I've seen out of the other two to make them impossible to live without. I really don't want a PS3 or 360. I'm sure the games look nice, but...dunno'. I think I'm where I'm supposed to be.

    D) Natal/Sony's Moon Dildo/The Wiimote are just options. At least, they SHOULD be. When anything gimmicky is overused (let alone misused), it's a bad thing, 99% of the time. It stops being novel and immersive, after a while. It's only natural when handled by TRULY skilled designers for unique applications. It's always why my Classic Controllers are almost CONSTANTLY plugged into my Wiimotes.

    E) The soulless avatars would bother me. But I like time-killers, so...I'm not ashamed to say I'd probably check it out, if I owned a PS3. But there are no system-sellers out there, for me. So, a non-issue.
