About a week ago, Robert Bowling linked to a new Infinity Ward video called "Fight Against Grenade Spam PSA"

After the video, which is quite funny, came out, multiple people, such as Lono from Sarcastic Gamer and Philip Kollar began criticizing Infinity Ward for the acronym that the title of the video spells out. Here's a link to Lono's write up on Sarcastic Gamer: http://sarcasticgamer.com/wp/index.php/2009/10/infinity-ward-condones-anti-gay-slur-in-youtube-video.html

You know what I think is stupid? The fact that they are harping on Infinity Ward, when they are the ones who point out the acronym, bugs the shit out of me. Furthermore, they said that that Infinity Ward "condones" the use of homosexual slurs, which is just fucking ridiculous. Watch the video. Do they ever abbreviate the title to show the acronym? No. Do they ever try to bring special attention to it? No. So, stop trying to put Infinity Ward in such a negative light over a coincidence.

If you're going to complain about something in the video, complain about the pot leaf that the player is using as his emblem. /Rant

  2. Hmmm, the issue comes more from the fact that after they defended the video, they pulled the video, reconsidering the message that was being brought forth in the video. Sure it seems funny, but at the same time, no PR person with a brain should have allowed this video to be created. All it does is bring forth a message that is heard far too often in a Call of Duty online match.

I am a hetrosexual male, but I cannot begin to count the number of times I have been called gay, homo, cock smoker, and other such wonderful terms by the Xbox Live community, and this video will only server to perpetuate that tone of commentary on the system. This is one of the reasons I am thankful that most do not use a microphone on the PS3.

I agree. I find though that there's less smack on the PS3 than Live. Uncharted 2 there's very little and you're right, barely any mics.

I'd have to disagree with there not being much smack on the PSN. I haven't played on xbox live very much, but I know even with the lack of mics on the PSN that if there is anyone in the match they will most likely talk dirty. I've played enough Warhawk and Uncharted 2 to know that.
