Xbox Live Fall Update

Get ready for a whole new learning curve this Fall on your Xbox 360. Yesterday, during the Microsoft demonstration at E3, a truckload of new features came to fruition: The most obvious addition is the 3D interface which I quite like and is somewhat consistent with Media Center and Vista but still has its own flare. Then there's the custom Avatar creator which some of you may feel borrows from other well known consoles, Netflix integration (Will other Countries get this feature?), Xbox Live Prime Time Channel and many, many more. Oh yeah and the guide with the blades is still around:

Yeah, I like the interface, but the avatar concept has to go. I don't feel like playing dress up on my console. Lets see, but I want to go and play some Mass Effect, but first, I have to do this system update. Then before I can play my game, I have to play dolls and dress up my avatar. Now I can finally play the game. Yeah, the creation may only happen once, but why can't I opt out of that and just keep my gamer pic.
Oh wait, I know why! So Microsoft can try to charge me for Spaceballs: The T-Shirt, and Spaceballs: The Socks, and of course, my favorite, Spaceballs: The Other Crap I Don't Want.
