  1. Damn, It doesn't look like the PS3 will be getting a price cut any time soon:

"This year, our strategy is not to sell more quantity for PS3 but to concentrate on profitability," Oneda told a forum in Singapore. "Our plan is not to reduce the price."

  2. I don't think they can afford another price cut. Look at the financials for Sony. They are still bleeding profusely in the entertainment sector. Unlike Microsoft, they do not have XP, Vista and Office money to fall back on.

  3. Yeah you're right. Considering that they've already done a price cut this year, but c'mon. The PS3 is on par in every way - so why is the 360 so much cheaper? Other than being on the market for a long period of time.

  4. Being on the market longer means parts are getting cheaper for the 360. Also, the cost of the blu-ray does not get factored in. While cheaper than at launch, it still costs money. Also, because the PSN is free, it means those costs are burdened by Sony, unlike Microsoft, who can defer them with a $50 fee.

  5. Ah yes i forgot about good ol' Bly-Ray.

Since I don't own a PS3 yet, what are people's opinions on the quality of the PSN compared to Live, given that the PSN is free?
