I've contemplating all of the gaming related items I what to receive/purchase this Christmas, and a PS3 has come to mind. So, a couple days after Christmas, since I'd probably have enough money from my birthday too, I figured I'd buy one. The only games I'd have are LittleBigPlanet and Resistance 2. Do you think I should buy one? If you own a PS3, how do you like it? Thanks!

Should I buy a PS3?
(8 posts)-
Well Jordan if you really want one then go for it. I bought my PS3 last year before they pulled the backwards compatible 60 gig off the market. I rushed into though, I didn't want to have a handicapped PS3. After I purchased it I was immediately unhappy, the best game I played on the PS3 at that time was Everyday Shooter(which is still the best game on the PSN to date). I still think the Xbox 360 is a better console but if you really want a PS3 and cant live with out it. Ill recommend some games to you MGS4, Uncharted, Echochrome and you might want to pick up the first Resistance. I hope this helped.

Are there any specific reasons why you were unhappy with it? Thanks!
Some other PS3 games that have caught my interest are Killzone 2, God of War III, the Ratchet & Clank Future series, Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted, Warhawk, and MAG (if it doesn't have a subscription service).

I have and love my PS3, but I'll be honest and say that I don't own a 360, either.
From my list of disc-based games, I love: MGS4, Resistance, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (even if it was quite marred with glitches and bugs), and I'm about to crack open Uncharted which from all accounts has been the #1 game for the PS3. After sinking my teeth into LBP and Resistance 2, they're both on my list of "to get". I have the demo for Mirror's Edge and Valkyria Chronicles waiting for me once I get back from my business trip. But the trailer for VC did look quite good.
On the download-able side, PixelJunk Monsters, PixelJunk Eden, and Wipeout are most excellent as well.

I was unhappy with the quality of games available. Almost every game I wanted was a also on the 360. The best exclusives I would have to say so far is MGS4 and LPB. Ill say this though if you love the Metal Gear series then you should own a PS3, I'm obsessed with MGS so I don't regret buying my PS3 now.

Well, I think I just love my 360 so much, because I barely play my PS3 anymore. Hell, I couldn't even be bothered to play the LBP beta when I had it. I couldn't even get into MGS4, so...

I have stated that if I can find a 60GB PS3, I will probably jump on it, but not really for gaming, but more for Blu-Ray support. It is and always has been the best Blu-ray player on the market.
There are a couple of games that I would probably play, but I get most of my stuff on PC, or 360 as a backup. Another console just gets too expensive. Hey, I have a Wii and I barely even use that thing anymore, because beyond a game every quarter, or a party at my house, I have no incentive to use it.
