I love my Genesis, but it hasn't seen air in a long time. Back when I played it constantly, I was always playing Shinobi III. I have no idea why I kept playing it over and over, but I eventually mastered it and couuld be it without dying. Another thing about the Genesis is they always seemed to have the best Disney games. One other note is that system had the very first 100 dollar cartridge I ever saw. Virtua Racing. That was a trip. My friend actually bought it. If you were to play that today, you'd be wrought with sickness by how ugly it was.

Ooooh.... I bought a used one right after graduating from college.

The first ToeJam, Adventures of Batman & Robin, Combat Cars, Justice League Task Force, Lion King, and Spider-Man: Maximum Carnage were all favorites. Although I think I'd rather have explosive diarrhea than play most of those now.

And Star Control! Gad we played a ton of Star Control. I always sucked at it though.

I should bust the ol' Genesis out and play that first Power Rangers game with my son.

Golden Axe 2 was my favorite. The graphics on the remake for Golden Axe 1 for the SegaCD were quite tasty, but since it was limited to single player it ruined the game.

Some favorites off the top of my head:

Gunstar Heroes, Golden Axe II, Contra: Hard Corps, Castlevania Bloodlines, Streets of Rage 2, Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, Desert Strike & Jungle Strike, & of course Sonic games.

Ouch.. canadian must have been really week back then!

Yes, ToeJam and Earl is by far one of the best games. The first one was great, while the second was decent.

Some other classics include Comix Zone, NHL 94 (the first four-player one). Those were the days getting the next door neighbor kids over and having the 'brothers' team up together or against each other. Of course, Street Figher 2: Special Championship Edition is by far the best console version of SF2 as well ;).

Ahh I remember EA's NBA, the first NHL game, Sonic, Strider, ToeJam...the list goes on.

Now those games were just fun - but I remember the cost of them: NBA was 100 bucks before tax!

Here are some of my all-time fav's:
General Chaos (best w/ 4 players)
Starflight
I'll have to dig through my box of games and get the names of others. I haven't played it lately, because when I first hooked it up to my HDTV, it didn't like the composite signal. The video displayed, but the TV still output "No Signal". Quite weird.

It should be illegal for Starflight to be on the Genesis. But seriously, my wife owned one for some time, and she loved the two ToeJam and Earl games. She is looking to get them on the Virutal Console at some point.
