Holy crap, I cannot believe how great Red Faction is becoming on the PC. I got it and the sequel as freebies when I pre-ordered Red Faction: Guerrilla. Not sure if any of our veteran forum readers played any of these early Red Faction games, but I am wondering why these were overlooked by gamers.

That and the fact that I swear, Harry Goz does the voicework for a lot of the background characters, as well as the voice that handles your training. Come on, it is hard to take training seriously when it comes in the voice of Captain Murphy.

I could not pass up the deal they were offering on Steam. $39.99 for the game itself, and if you pre-ordered, you got both Red Faction 1 and 2 for free. Considering I have never played either, it was a steal.

Add in the LIVE support for achievements in RF:G and free DLC and it was a great bargain for a game that was 25% more on the consoles. Of course, PC owners had to wait a few months longer to get the game, but I think it was worth the wait.
