My 360 Gamertag is SJMDracula. TheTony, if you put your Wii Friend Code up, I'll add you.

I would add TheTony as well. And my Wii code is here in this thread. And I do actually turn on the Wii at least once a month for game night. Maybe even more than once a month now that I have a hankering to play my copy of Dead Space Extraction, complete with its tentacle loving cover. Seriously, what is up with that cover? Who thought it would be a good idea to have a cover with a female, and a tentacle surrounding her? Maybe EA wass marketing to the wrong audience. Maybe they should have gone after the lucrative tentacle porn market. But I digress.

I called Microsoft and explained the issue and they resolved it pretty quickly.
It turns out what happened was Tori already had a Windows Live account from when she was setting up some blogging software some time ago, Live Spaces or something along those lines, which turned out to be utter crap. So after creating the profile on the 360, she went to create a Gamertag and when it recognized the existing account tried to pair the two, it failed because she had never submitted contact information to the Windows Live account. Rather than saying, "we can't pair your account because there's no contact information in your Windows Live account," it instead said "sorry, try again later, 80169C5F." Go figure.
We went to xbox.com and entered contact information for the account and we were able to recover the Gamertag to the console afterward. Unfortunately, this meant we had to start a new profile, with a new avatar, and throw the old one away.
What a pain that we'd need to pay for her to play online with her account. That's unreasonable.

Koss had the same info. I could not send him a friend request until he finally linked his Windows Live account and the gamertag.

Occasionally, I have to pull my power cord to reset some errors, like when my controllers stop syncing to the Xbox 360. That error normally comes with migrating a profile from one Xbox to another.

Also, have you tried creating an Xbox Live account via the Xbox.com website? Or have you tried signing in to the website with the username and password you created? Just a couple more things to try.

And just to make it all fun, remember that you will need a Gold Subscription for each account that you want to use Netflix, and or online play. Yes, both my wife and myself have Gold accounts, so we actually spend $80-100 a year depending on discounts.

I created my profile on the 360 without issue, and now my wife has been trying to create one. She's made the profile, an avatar, and everything... but now can't create her Xbox Live account. When she tries, we get a general error message and to "try later." I get an error code of 80169C5F.

Looking around online, people think either Xbox Live is down (obviously it's not) or that we need to clean our HDD's cache, which we tried. There is no mention of the error in any useful context on the Xbox Support site. Now what?

Hello guys and gals, just wanted to let everyone know that we have been selected for another Xbox Live community playdate, and hopefully this one goes as well as the last one, minus the site crashing.

The game of choice this time around is Shadowrun, which can be played on the PC and can be had for $10, or found at your local Gamestop on 360 for $6-8 used. We are looking for community members that would like to help out like the last time. So far I have three people, and could use two to three more.

Post here with your gamertag if you would like to assist with the game night. Just remember that it will be on Sunday, April 4th 2010, and runs from 5-8PM Pacific time.

I finally finished this last night, does anyone else think this is an awesome game? Loved the ending. I had no idea Cliffy was a consultant on this one.

Interested in it? Yes. Willing to buy it at $15? No. I have found out that I buy an XBLA game and play it for a short while, and then it just wastes space on my Hard Drive. I can count on one hand, how many times I went back to Bionic Commando Rearmed, Gauntlet, Xevious, Heavy Weapon, Hexic and countless other titles. The only ones that really have had any staying power are Cassarcerone, or however the hell that game is spelled, and Peggle. Defense Grid is doing well for me now, but I wonder if I will tire of it eventually like all other XBLA games.
