So I finally played enough of The Pitt DLC to get the Auto Axe, aka the Man Opener, and I am loving it. Slicing and dicing people is good times.
Okay, Bethesda have won me over quite a bit with this demo. The more I watch it, the more I realize that it is truly starting to become a great game in the Fallout tradition. I love the wide openness of the game. It seems very spacious with little to no pop-in. I do wonder if you stay in Washington DC or if you can travel to surrounding areas. I would have liked to have had more of a demo of Dogmeat and how he interacts with the world, as they have talked about on several occasions. The Fatboy is my new favorite weapon. Launching mini nukes will never get old. Also, the two combat systems seem to work together rather nicely, although it seemed like battle results were better with VATS. Click the jump for extra violent goodness.

While not as great as the teaser trailer Bethesda put out last year, the trailer does show off how well the engine has come in the last year, and a view of the actual vault dweller in motion. I hope that E3 will bring us actual game footage, specifically, the combat system, which still has me a bit worried.

Thanks Laurence for the heads up.
