This week, we have three bands releasing tracks on the Rock Band marketplace, including The White Strips, Kasabian and The Damned. The White Stripes make their debut in Rock Band with a three track song back, that includes “Dead Leaves and Dirty Ground”, “Girl, You Have No Faith In Medicine” and “Icky Thump”. All but “Icky Thump” will be available in Lego Rock Band.
For those of you that have Rock Band Unplugged on the PSP will have two new tracks to add to their library. The first is “Excuse Me Mr.” from No Doubt and “I’m Shipping Up To Boston” by the Dropkick Murphys.
All tracks are 160 Microsoft points, 200 Wii points or $1.99 on PS3. The three White Strips tracks can be had in a package on the PS3 and 360 for $5.49 and 440 Microsoft points depending on platform.
I am not sure about the other writers on the staff, but the more that I see of Splinter Cell: Conviction, the more I am convinced that it is going to be a huge title for 2010. In this developer diary from Ubisoft, we get to see more of the combat abilities that Sam Fisher will use in Splinter Cell: Conviction, including pistol use and Krav Maga.
Also, catch the reaction of the one developer when he hears Michael Ironside lay down his first voice overs for Splinter Cell: Conviction. It is priceless.

A couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to score a preview pass for the upcoming Twitter/Facebook/Last.fm update, and after using it for a few weeks, I have really come to enjoy the new features. However, there is one huge flaw in the update that rears its head fast, and totally kills the whole experience at times.

The face (or rather, voice) of the Xbox 360, Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb, has announced on his blog that Far Cry 2 and Battlefield 2 are coming to the 360’s Games On Demand service, meaning that they will be available as a digital download from the Xbox Live Marketplace. From where I’m standing, this can only be a good thing, as it meant these games will reach a wider audience, and maybe some of the people who couldn’t be bothered to pick them up when they first came out might get them. For some reason, however, BF2 is only available in North America and Asia, whereas Far Cry 2 is available anywhere except North America. Bizzare! Anyway, FC2 is £19.99 in the UK, and BF2 is $19.99 in the USA. Anyone got any idea why the odd regional restrictions are being enforced?
So here we are in November, just under 60 days away from the prime gift giving season of the year and we have some more games for you to add to you list as an avid 360 gamer. Whether you like silent killing, rocking out at a lego character or even just slaying large dragons, there will be a game for you this month.
Also, let us take note of another great case mod for the Xbox 360 this month, with the Halo Helm 360 case. This case has a large window to view in to the case that is styled in the shame of the Master Chief visor. If you would read more about this mod, head over to Unreality for their top 15 Xbox 360 case mod article. To celebrate the release of SEGA’s Bayonetta in Japan this week, Tokyo commuters got to see the amazonian heroine laid out in all her glory by way of huuuuuuuge billboard postings spotted at Shinuya and Shinjuku stations. With only fliers posted to protect poor Bayonetta’s modesty, it was simply a waiting-game to see if and when the Japanese public stripped her down.
Unsurprisingly, it took less than 24 hours.

This week, we have a plethora of bands coming to the Rock Band marketplace. First off is a four pack of Foo Fighters songs, followed up by a trio of Nirvana tracks. And finally we have a track from Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, which will also work with Lego Rock Band.

For those that have ventured down the vocal path and have picked up Lips or Lips Number One Hits, you will have some fairly good DLC for the month of November. After the first Friday of November, you will have a single band featured each month.
Some of the tunes you see this month will come from Marvin Gaye, Lady GaGa, Colbie Caillat, Bananarama, Juice Newton and The Supremes. Maybe it is just me, but did we not get enough of The Supremes in October?

It seems like Tower Defense games are all the rage these days, and it is hard to separate one game from the next, unless you get a solid hook for your game. Defense Grid: The Awakening looks to change things up a bit by giving you a vast arsenal to defend your base, while tweaking the formula and location for a fun experience.
