You have about 2 weeks left to drop us a line on this post and simply let us know why you want one of these games. To reiterate: We’ll be giving away two copies of Alone in the Dark, Dragon Ball Z + some apparel from each game.
Game Developers do a lot of crazy things to get inspiration for their games: Some travel to far off places and document everything in sight, some will dress up like little girls with big eyes and under-sized dresses, and some might even get their wives to act out scripted Monster animations.
Then there’s the Dead Space team, who watch films to get their creative juices flowing, and that is exactly what they did. It turns out they watched about 100 Horror and Science Fiction films while making the upcoming game, and now they want to pass their collection on to you, for free…without the scratches.
All you have to do to win 100 flicks is sign up for their newsletter. And to give you an idea of how many movies this really is, check out Dan The Intern in the picture here. Why are the interns always the guinea pigs?

It’s contest time again folks and this time we’re giving away a couple of games plus some good ol’ schwag. Here’s the deal:
Contest 1:
Two winners will take home a copy of Alone in the Dark on the Wii or 360 + an Alone in the Dark hat and T-shirt. If you win this one, don’t wear these articles of clothing in Central Park because people will just think you’re loony.

Contest 2:
1 winner will take home a copy of Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit on the PS3 or 360 + a T-shirt, Hat and a Poster.
These contests are open to US residents only and will run for 1-month starting today, ending on August 9th, 2008
I’m going to make the contest submission process easier than running butter over a piece of slightly browned toast this time: All you have to do is comment on this post, or any other weekly Contest reminder, and let us know why you want these games. If you’re new around here, don’t forget to include your email address when you sign up, else we can’t send you a game!
We’ll randomly pick a winner when the time is up and send you an email. Good luck.
If developer Red Fly sounds familiar, it could be because of our recent mention of them as the developer of the Wii version of the upcoming Ghostbusters game. Before Ghostbusters was announced however, we knew Red Fly as the developer of the Mushroom Men games that Gamecock is bringing to Nintendo Wii and DS. The DS version of Mushroom Men is called Rise of the Fungi, and the Wii version is The Spore Wars. One’s mind boggles at the sheer potential in fungus-related puns for this pair of games. That alone indicates how probable Mushroom Men is to become a franchise.
Read on for the new screens for the DS game. Find information on the Mushroom Men Writing Contest over at Space Squid, where entrants will vie for the chance to win prizes including a Wii, the Mushroom Men games, posters, baseball caps and other swag. The contest’s details aren’t posted yet, but we’re promised they’ll be there pretty soon.
Don’t forget you’ve still got a few days to think about what your favorite moment, and I know you have one, was in any of the Bourne movies. All you need to do is drop us a line in the comments and we’ll pick a winner to receive the Xbox 360 version of The Bourne Conspiracy.
Here’s something you haven’t seen here: Once a week - maybe twice, we’re going to try a: “What The Feck Is That Game”? sort of contest. If you guess the name of the game, you’ll receive $25 towards the game of your choice, or keep the cash for your car’s gas budget which should get you about 1 gallon or 1 litre these days. If this contest gets folks all giddy inside, then we’ll up the ante over time.
We won’t limit the games we choose to 1982, 8-bit graphic titles with midi beeps and seizure-inducing flashy colored blocks - games from any time period are taken into consideration. “How the bloody hell do I qualify?” You ask yourself. Well, just comment on this post with your answer. If more than one person gets it right, we’ll take the first correct answer until the next “What The Feck Is That Game?” round begins.
So have at ‘er, kids! What the bleep is this game?
We’ve got a shiny new copy of Robert Ludlum’s The Bourne Conspiracy to giveaway on the Xbox 360. All you have to do is drop us a line on this very post and let us know your favorite 30 million dollar elite Bourne moment. You can choose from any Bourne movie or TV show including: The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), The Bourne Supremacy (2004), The Bourne Identity (2002) or even good ol’ Richard Chamberlin in The Bourne Identity back in 1988 (for the distinguished readers). If we’ve forgotten any other Bournes, shoot me with a Taser, but tell me which one I’ve forgotten first.
If you’re not a regular visitor, you’ll need to sign up to comment which takes about 12.35 seconds. Don’t forget to include your email so we can contact you if you are the chosen one. Don’t worry, we won’t share your Bourne identity with anyone. Contest ends in about a week on June, 19th Thursday at 9:00PM EST.
EDITED: Added Professor Layton to the list, feel free to change your vote if you already submitted a title. We will extend the contest by a couple of days to reflect this.
Okay, if anyone can remember back to Podcast number 29, Levi and George kind of ganged up on me about why I could not see myself getting into DS gaming. The concept seemed strange, and the device just looks alien to me. Stranger is the fact that I have a daily commute on the Los Angeles Metrolink train system, so you would think the mobile platform would just be a given for someone like myself.
Well, I have decided that I should give the Nintendo DS a chance to shine, and why not get the Aeropause community involved as well. So Aeropause is going to hold a contest to select a game for me to play on my wife’s DS. The game that gets the most votes will be the game that I play, but to spice it up a bit, we will have a prize of $40 in either Microsoft Point cards, Wii Point cards, PS3 Gift points, Steam Gift game, DS Game or PSP game going to one of the people that submit a vote.
Our good friends over at Telltale Games have posted up a new contest for anyone that owns a Wii. To celebrate the upcoming launch of their new game, Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People, they are giving away a new copy of the game via WiiWare.
To win the game, all you have to do is create a Mii that looks like your favorite Homestarrunner character. Sounds easy enough, but can anyone tell me how to get a mask on a Mii?
The contest runs through June 14th, 2008, with entries accepted up until 11:59PM Pacific Time. You will also have to own a Nintendo Wii, but that is stating the obvious.
