Ones to Watch on DS and Wii in February 2008.

Alas, Super Smash Bros Brawl will not make its February launch date, as it was recently delayed to March. At this point, I wonder if it will make that launch date, but we’ll see. In the meantime, Japan’s enjoying the game, and good for them. We’ll be busy this month anyway.
On Wii, there is one big game coming out this month and a handful of smaller ones. The big game is Dragon Quest Swords on the 26th, which marks the first appearance of Square-Enix on Wii in North America. Check out the official site here.
Assassin’s Creed will be making its long-awaited appearance on the DS this month, with a prequel called Altair’s Chronicles. We’ll also see Professor Layton and the Curious Village, which is a low-profile Level 5 game that’s building up quite a cult following on word of mouth. The official site for that is here, and it’s dated for the 10th. The game’s a success in Japan, with a sequel already on the way. Capcom will be bringing another episode in their own cult hit franchise, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, which ought to impress fans of that series, due on the 19th. For me, the big star this month is Shin’en’s Nanostray 2, right here, now that Crackpot’s Insecticide has been (re)delayed to March. Shame about that last one…

Cheapyd said Prof Layton looked like yet another minigame collection but this one has a very cool story, so he said it should be on cagcast listeners’ radar screen. He said it has been out for a while in Japan and sold well there, he had seen kiosks showing it.
