Review: Rude Game Ware: Fierce V.2 Gaming Mouse
Rude Game Ware has released the Fierce 5000 DPI Laser Gaming Mouse V.2, an upgraded version of their V.1 mouse. This impressive little beast can move at 5000 dpi, which can be a little overwhelming, but very useful once you’re used to it. The mouse is very impressive out of the packaging, comes with manual, disk, mouse (duh), and weights. Looking at the mouse body shape, it is a great size for a normal sized hand. My hand fits very well around the mouse, no bulky feeling, which I have noticed with prior mice that I had purchased. The comfort grips on both sides, 7 programmable buttons, and a cool dpi button on top makes this mouse a great looking gaming mouse. The button on the top of the mouse enhances gameplay with an on-the-fly dpi change. When you hit this button it changes colors which indicate a new dpi setting. It’s pretty cool when you are playing a FPS and need either that extra boost in your dpi for infantry or slowing it down while flying. Stepping away from the dpi button, 6 other programmable buttons are at your disposal and a scroll wheel that is rated at 1000 Hz. The zero friction pads on the bottom of the mouse make it effortless to use on a smooth surface, like my Teflon coated mouse pad. I personally like the weights that came with the mouse, makes it a little more stable. Without the weights the mouse is really light and at 5000 dpi it is like controlling Speedy Gonzalez by his tale while he is on meth.
One of the main features of the mouse is the ability to change your dpi setting with one button push. In order to do this you have to customize the mouse through the software that comes with the driver disk. The software offers the ability to set 4 different levels of dpi from 800 to 5000. Each push of the button will change the color of a little light inside the mouse. You don’t have to worry about losing what settings the mouse has because it holds an internal memory that stores every little change you have done to it. The colors indicate what dpi setting you have it in. You can customize your mouse through this software, but first read the manual……. with a microscope. My biggest problem with this mouse is the manual, it is 1” X 3” in size, the lettering is near impossible to read. The mouse is great but I don’t understand how in such medium sized packaging you have the nerve of putting a manual that not even the Keebler Elves can read.
This is a very good mouse for FPS or RTS. Awesome comfort, and nifty features. The manual is too damn small, the customization tool will be confusing if you can’t read the manual, but it is a well balanced mouse. The price might turn up your nose, it will run you for a little over 50 bucks, honestly I would pay about 30 – 40 bucks for this mouse, it is a great mouse but a little too steep.
