Vote for your favorite PSN 2010 games and they may go on sale
To prepare for the PSN’s upcoming Spring Fever sale event, the PlayStation Blog has announced the first ever PlayStation Network Gamers’ Choice Awards. Five titles are nominated in four categories, and the chosen winner in each race will receive special discount pricing during the Spring Fever sale. Gamers vote by downloading free XMB themes that match to each nominated title from February 22 through March 1.
This is actually pretty stupid. Why would I want to vote for a game I already own? I’m more likely to vote for a game I didn’t buy, in hopes that it goes on sale and I can then grab it on the cheap. Hey, I may think Costume Quest is the Best PS3 Downloadable Game, but I already have it, so I’m voting for Pac-Man Championship Edition DX instead.
You want my prediction, I think Sony is planning a massive WHOOP-YA-CAUGHT-US switcheroo on this. Come Spring Fever, they will put ALL of the nominated games on sale… because, duh, they always put a pile of games on sale during these Store events. We’ll find out for sure once the sale starts in March.
By the way, nice use of the Rock Band font, Sony.
