Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell Collections for PS3 Come Stateside
Remember a few months back when a few listings for a Splinter Cell collection and a Prince of Persia collection showed up on European retailers websites? Everyone stateside was hoping that these collections would show up at retailers in the US, but nothing ever materialized. As a matter of fact, each of the Prince of Persia titles ended up dropping on the PSN over several weeks not too long ago, kind of killing off the idea that the box sets would ever end up getting a US release date.
Well, it seems we just did not wait long enough, as Ubisoft has announced both box sets are indeed coming to the US and they will be hitting shelves on March 31st, 2011. Each Trilogy collection will be remastered in high definition, and will also have stereoscopic 3D. Each trilogy will ship on one Bluray disc, or you will have the option of buying the collection digitally via PSN.
There is no mention if there will be any other materials in the bundles or if it is just a bare collection of the three games in each respective series on a disc. I would love a few little extra documentaries or something of that nature to round out the package, but either way, these are two solid trilogies and should be picked up by anyone that missed them the first time around.
Gamers will be able to experience the first three action-packed narratives of operative Sam Fisher and rediscover the original Prince of Persia trilogy both re-mastered in High Definition and integrated 3D stereoscopic view.
