Ones to Watch on Wii/DS for February 2011
Nintendo awakens from a month-and-a-half slumber with Mario Sports Mix, a rare display of Nintendo combining multiple moderate games into one collection. If only they’d thought of this before releasing that GameCube version of Mario Tennis!
February 7
Mario Sports Mix (Wii) – NOA has been curiously quiet about the Square Enix character cameos hidden in this game, even though the beans have already been spilled back during the Japanese release.
February 8
You Don’t Know Jack (Wii, DS) – Yep, this one’s back, and on everything. Same bald jerk on the cover; same in-your-face use of the word “irreverent.” The Buzz franchise ate this one’s lunch years ago.
Naruto Shippuden: Shinobi Rumble (DS) – Probably one to watch, right? It has teh Naruto.
February 14
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation (DS) – The big DS release arrives on Valentine’s Day, the Best Selling Game (in Japan) of 1995. If you’d like another year statistic that will boggle your mind, note that this DS version was announced way back in 2007.
February 22
de Blob 2 (Wii, DS) – A Wii exclusive no more, de Blob 2 might fix some of the first game’s soul-crushing problems. First, let’s start with slightly tinkering the concept of levels that take two hours to complete.
