Review: Lylian Episode 1: Paranoid Friendship

Picture Alice from American McGee’s Alice in Wonderland strangling Abe from Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee with a straight jacket. PixelPickle games introduce Lylian: Episode 1: Paranoid Friendship, an action packed platform adventure game that is just plain creepy and weird. Lylian starts her story in an insane asylum with her trusted bear Bob who is her friend and ally through Lylian’s torment. Obsessed with jelly filled doughnuts and a hatred for the asylums staff, Lylian must battle through her psychotic episodes and the psychotic staff. You meet interesting characters through you adventure, and each one is more disturbing than the other. It is your basic platform game where you jump, run, and or hit your way through the level. The graphics rival those of the SNES and the system requirements are really not demanding. Nothing really frustrating about the game, some parts are actually a little adrenalin pumped, like being chased by a gigantic worm. Most of all the game is really entertaining for 5 bucks. If you’re trying to quit smoking and need to blow the 5 bucks then check out PixlePickle’s website.
