Club Nintendo adds Kirby patches and Mario Remote straps
After years of grumping about Japan’s awesome Nintendo rewards, we got our own Region 1 Club Nintendo. Then we grumped that the reward list was not being improved, and Nintendo has been working hard to improve the prize assortment this year.
Tonight Nintendo announced some cute Kirby’s Epic Yarn sticker patches and a set of color-themed Wii Remote wrist straps. The Kirby patches come in two sets of two designs and go for 350 Club Nintendo coins per pair. 450 coins gets you all four wrist straps, which come in Mario Red, Luigi Green, Blue Toad Blue and Yellow Toad Yellow.
A year later and that’s still stupid.
These prizes come two weeks after Nintendo added those odd terrycloth towels (three designs available at 350 points apiece). And before that we got a pair of nice tote bags in November, and the sensu fans and collectible pins in October. Pretty good going after an eternity of staring at boring school folders and those Animal Crossing playing cards!
The new arrivals tend to sell out fast, so check your Club Nintendo account regularly as you never know when Nintendo restocks. F’rinstance, I see the Messenger Bag is back online at the moment and I am totally ordering it right now.
