Time to Get Fit With Scary Spice
When I think of working out, I think of getting down with one of the Spice Girls to work off that horrible leftover chinese food that I had for lunch. Actually, I don’t really think about working out at all - you know, having to keep up the stereotype of being a gamer – but we did get word that Mel B, also known as “Scary Spice” is putting out a new workout game that is exclusive to the Playstation Move system.
The new title, “Get Fit with Mel B”, features over 200 different exercises crossing over into standard exercise movements, dance, aerobics and kickboxing. The game also says that she will be your teacher, mentor and inspiration.
Not sure if I am going to pick up Mel B, but I can say that it will probably hinge on how hard the Trophies are to get.

DEEP SILVER ANNOUNCES GET FIT WITH MEL B AS A LAUNCH TITLE EXCLUSIVELY FOR PLAYSTATION®MOVE IN NORTH AMERICA
LARKSPUR, CA— September 9, 2010 – Deep Silver, the games label of Koch Media GmbH, today announced they will be publishing Get Fit with Mel B, an innovative fitness program which will exclusively utilize the groundbreaking PlayStation®Move platform for the PlayStation®3 (PS3™) system in North America. Get Fit with Mel B allows participants to work out on-screen alongside Spice Girl and entertainment superstar Mel B. Program users will use PlayStation Move’s advanced motion control technology and Mel B’s expertise and passion for health to reach their individual fitness and nutrition goals.
“With her fantastic performance as a finalist in Dancing With the Stars, her role as the host of Oxygen’s Dance Your A** Off and her work for the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s “Pose for the Cure” breast cancer campaign, Mel B’s dedication to health and fitness makes her the perfect choice to inspire users of this program to improve their overall well being,” said Deep Silver Chief Operating Officer Geoff Mulligan. “This program, using brand new PlayStation Move technology, will allow participants to be inspired and motivated by Mel B as their personal trainer every day, all for much less than the price of a gym membership.”
Based on user-set goals and personal preferences, Mel B will design a fitness program delivering highly individualized health solutions. Whether users are looking to lose pounds for the beach, build muscle and endurance for sports or just find a way to relax, Mel B will create daily workouts and meal plans to deliver real results. Furthermore, she will continuously monitor user performance and give encouragement and feedback, spurring users on to achieve their dreams. For those taking their first steps into the fitness arena, Get Fit with Mel B includes a comprehensive practice mode in which users can participate in tutorials and demonstrations. For those interested in enhancing their fitness regime, Get Fit with Mel B offers the opportunity to integrate fitness accessories, such as aerobic steps, fit balls and resistance bands into the workout for a greater challenge. What’s more, once each workout is done, users can use the program’s facebook integration to share their workout progress and results with their friends.
“We’re thrilled that Get Fit with Mel B is launching exclusively alongside PlayStation Move as the very first fitness title for the platform,” said Rob Dyer, Senior Vice President of Publisher Relations at Sony Computer Entertainment of America. “PlayStation Move is more than just an innovative games platform; it allows people to experience interactivity at a new level across a whole range of activities. Fitness is just one arena where PlayStation Move excels and Get Fit with Mel B pushes the boundaries of what a home fitness program can help people achieve.”
