SteelSeries Announces New Shift Series Keyboard
So who here remembers the Z-Board when it first came out. You know, the Lego keyboard that could swap out and swap in keyboard layouts at the drop of a dime. Yeah, I was not all that keen on it when it came out, as it seemed to be gimmicky and, well, weird. However, the keyboard gained a dedicated foothold in the House of Blizzard and became a great accessory for World of Warcraft, Starcraft II and other games from Blizzard.
Now, SteelSeries is taking the technology that they perfected in the Z-Board and have moved it into a new platform called the Shift Keyboard. This new keyboard features many gaming-focused items including silicone treated keys that can withstand 15 million clicks, audio ports for a mic and headset, swappable keysets for different games and most importantly, one powered USB port and one non-powered USB port.
Currently, we do not have a price or a releases date, except that it is coming soon, but if you want more specs on the device, head over to the Shift page on the SteelSeries website. Follow the jump for a few more pictures of the keyboard from different angles.
