Move Support Coming Out of the Woodwork
One of the biggest problems for a new console peripheral is having to buy new games that use it. Two things have been revealed to ameliorate that somewhat with the PlayStation Move. First, a demo disc of 11 games will be part of the Move and PS Eye camera bundle (alongside Sports Champions), with downloads of them on the PlayStation Store for those of us who already have a PS Eye camera and are opting to get Move controllers without the bundled stuff. Second, games are already starting to roll out Move support patches. Yesterday on the PlayStation Blog developers announced the dates for Move patches for two titles. The Hustle Kings pool game will get a Move patch today, on the 14th, while Heavy Rain gets one on the 22nd. Add in an interesting Boom Blocks clone called Tumble coming soon and things are looking up for motion control with buttons.
Yes, there are also new websites featuring Kevin Butler-isms for Move on a set of linked sites, two of which are YayButtons.com and MoveVsStuff.com. They’re worth checking out. Will they make a difference?
Given that they’re a distinct departure from Sony’s pre-Kevin-Butler-build-it-and-they-will-come attitude, yes, I think they will.
