So as most listeners of the podcast are aware, I am not quite on the fence for the new DC Universe Online project, but the newest opening cinematic trailer, now featuring director commentary is definitely moving me towards a possible purchase. Yes, it is only a cinematic, and not representative of the final product, but when you seem to have Jim Lee on the edge of his seat, and you see such reverence going into the final product, you tend to sit up and take notice. It takes a great story from the DC Universe, and seems to find a new take on it. Also, it seems that there will be far more involvement with the main players in the universe, rather than being the chump that performs the crap missions that you find in most licensed MMO titles.
On top of the new trailer, we also received a host of new in-game screens that show off interactions between player characters and the main DC Universe players, again, easing fears of this being a simple fetch quest MMORPG title where you report to a main guy and then go find 10 thugs, rinse and repeat.
