Aeropodcast #152: I Got An M In It

Submitted by on September 27, 2010 – 12:59 pmOne Comment

This week on the Haygood-less podcast, Mr. Fourhman, takes the reign of things with Mixmaster Munn to discuss reviewers and whether they need context of prior games in a series to review a title.  The discussion has come up from time to time based on things like the recently released Metroid: Other M, Metal Gear Solid and similar titles.  Can you respect the source of the review if they have not played a prior Kingdom Hearts title, or is there a new perspective that can be had from a fresh set of eyes on the series.  Also, listen to us discuss games that would be fun to send back to a 1980′s gamer to blow their mind.

Also, there is a small monologue on Shenmue at the beginning of the podcast which mandated a picture of the infamous quote from the game.

The podcast was mixed, by Stephen “Sailor-Man!” Munn, and features “Droid Girl”, performed by Lazyitis.

Before even listening I'm going to say yes you can respect a review from someone unfamiliar with the franchise but they have to come clean with full disclosure on that. Context is vital, but a fresh perspective is best for those who are also coming to a franchise for the first time.
