DC Universe Online Looks Really Good in the New Trailer

Submitted by on August 18, 2010 – 6:39 pm3 Comments

Sony Online Entertainment has released a new trailer for their newest MMORPG title due in November, DC Universe Online.  Now, I have been a skeptic of this title for some time now, feeling that it would lose something in the translation.  See, I want to be Batman or Superman, not a random hero that hangs with them on occasion.  I know that Sony has stated that the game will advance the hero genre and incorporate changes that will make you feel like a major hitter in the game world, but I am still not quite sold.

All that said, the trailer they put out today really makes the game look great, and as I watched it, I kept trying to suppress that voice in the back of my head, the one that says “Go Preorder it already”.  If you want to see what I am talking about, check the video after the jump.  DC Universe Online is set to arrive on PCs in November 2010, with the PS3 following in early 2011.

Dude. I keep telling you. The PS3 version is simultaneous launch date as the PC version. November 2, 2010.

I just saw this recently, but if that is the case, I am surprised, because they were definitely looking at 2011 for PS3 when I talked to the SOE guys. Could be they got back on schedule. I am also a bit bummed that they may not be doing cross server play. I hope that was just a mean rumor, but who knows.

I really like the way that the game is looking, and I would like to give it a shot, but now I found out that Kevin Conroy is not doing the voice of Batman, and that might just kill it for me. If Kevin Conroy is not voicing Batman all the time, it is a fail.

Kevin Conroy is definitely doing Batman's voice in the cinematic trailer released a few weeks ago, and was confirmed in a press release before that. Who is telling you this stuff, Stan Lee?
