Weekend Deals from The Digital Ether – July 23rd, 2010 Edition

Submitted by on July 23, 2010 – 11:56 amNo Comment

It seems like there is a lot of focus on gaming websites to focus on the deals that are present for the consoles and less about the deals that are on the PC.  Each week, I hope to put together a pretty comprehensive guide of what is available in the digital marketplace for PC.  These deals will come from most of the big digital download locations, including Steam, Impulse, Direct2Drive, Games for Windows Marketplace (when a deal actually occurs there) and Gamersgate.

With those introductions out of the way, hit the jump to find out what is going to be easy on your wallet this weekend in the digital ether.

First off, we would be remiss to mention that it looks like Paradox has a sale everywhere right now, where their entire catalog is 50% off.  Basically, you can pick your digital marketplace and get the deal for the Paradox games.  Also, Steam is doing a free weekend for Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West, another Paradox game.  You can get a four pack bundle or a single license for half off, and they are giving you a whole weekend to try the full game for free before you buy it.

Steam

The big deal for the weekend on Steam is the Strong Bad adventure game series from Telltale Games.  Normally, the five games come as a bundle for $29.98, but are currently 83% off, taking the total down to $4.99.  You can also pick up the indie title, Euflora for $9.99, which is 50% off the normal price.  Continuing the deals, you can add Future Wars for $7.99 (20% off), Dimensity for $8.99 (10% off), Tidalis for $8.99 (10% off) and finally Rhythm Zone for $8.99 (10% off).

Impulse

Impulse has a large assortment of title on sale this weekend outside of the Paradox deal.  You can pick up Quantz, a title I love, for half off at $4.99.  If flying is more your style, you can get Air Aces – Pacific for 20% off at $39.99.  If you like your shooters a little more hardcore, you can pick up STALKER: Shadows of Chernobyl for half off at $9.99.  The THQ Bundle includes abotu 20 games from THQ for $99.99, a 67% savings to your wallet.  Crysis, the original PC killer, is marked down to $22.49, a 25% savings.  Closing out, we have Monster Jam for $9.99 (50% off) and MotoGP for $9.99 (50% off).

Direct2Drive

If you like Doctor Who, and have not figured out how to proxy your way to a free copy of the Doctor Who adventure games, D2D has the first two episodes for $3.70 (25% off).  I have never heard of The Scourge Project, but if you have, and you have wanted to buy it, now is your chance, as it is only $4.95 (75% off).  Tidalis is also on sale for $8.99 (10% off).  Closing out the deals, we have Amnesia: The Dark Descent for $17.95 (10% off).  And yes, the Paradox games are on sale here as well.

GamersGate

GamersGate also has the Paradox deal for 50% off their entire library.  They are also offering up Amnesia: The Dark Descent for $17.95 (10% off).  Clover: A Curious tale is a puzzler that is 50% off, knocking it down to $4.97.  For our Mac fans, as well as PC fans, Emberwind is down to $4.78, knocking 60% off the normal price.  If you have not picked up Heroes of Might and Magic V yet, you can get the Gold or Silver edition for $19.97 (Gold) or $9.97  (Silver), each 50% off.  Rounding out some of the other deals, we have Max and the Magic Market at $.4.97 (75% off), Neverwinter Nights 2 Gold for $14.98 (50% off), Shaun White Snowboarding for $14.95 (50% off), Tidalis for $8.97 (10% off), Splinter Cell: Conviction for $49.95 (17% off), Tomb Raider: Anniversary for $9.97 (50% off), Tomb Raider: Underworld for $14.97 (50% off), Trine for $6.78 (60% off) and finally UFO: Extraterrestrials for $4.97 (50% off).

Hope you found some values that you can put to use, and let us know if you end up picking up any of these deals this weekend.
