The King Has Returned in The Silver Lining

Oh King’s Quest, how I miss you.  Back in the early 1980′s, Roberta Williams expanded on her Mystery House concept to create a new graphical adventure game called King’s Quest.  This franchise featured stunning graphics (for its time), and a compelling narrative.  The game was such a success, that it spawned several sequels, until King’s Quest VIII, which was a terrible travesty.  From that point, the King’s Quest license went unused and unloved.

However, a small group of fans started crafting together a follow up to the King’s Quest series, that would bring it back to the old school adventure game feel that fans of us remember so fondly.  The game went through a winding and troubled development, including threats of legal action from Activision, but in the end, The Silver Lining is finally out today for gamers to play, and best of all, the game is completely free.
