New screens for Pac-Man Party

Did you know Pac-Man‘s been around for thirty years? It’s true! He’s almost as old as I am. While it’s debatable whether any of the games that came after the original have been worth your time (except for Ms. Pac-Man, of course), you can’t fault Namco for trying. In fact, Pac-Man‘s still a strong license. Very recognizable. Why not take that and make it a party game? Aside from the obvious reason that party games are usually terrible?

PAC-MAN Party captures the spirit of the beloved franchise and provides engaging entertainment that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With more than 45 exciting mini-games, PAC-MAN Party provides a rewarding and challenging social gaming experience regardless of skill level. From the time-based trials of rolling a giant snowball and knocking your friends off a mountain top, to adventures that require more precision and endurance, players will be fully engaged as they use the Wii Remote’s motion, pointing and button control capabilities.

Namco-Bandai dropped a stack of new images for the game today. If you want to see a little more about it, check out the newest issue of Nintendo Power, which has Dragon Quest IX on the cover. See the rest of the screens below.

Knowing Namco's history of fan-service, it seems highly likely that Mappy and Katamari will be in this game somewhere. I already spot me a Dig-Dug ref.
