While it was nice to have Yakuza 3 released here in the States a few months ago, it did not help the fact that we already knew that Yakuza 4 was going to drop about the same time in Japan. Being a full year behind the current release sucked, especially when we were not even sure that Yakuza 4 would ever see the light of day here in the US. Well, according to the press release that we received today, Sega has confirmed that Yakuza 4 will be coming to the US in early 2011, and it will be on display at E3 this year.
Yakuza 4 will no longer follow just Kiryu, as instead, you will play through four different stories involving four different protagonists. You have Kiryu, who has been the main character of the prior Yakuza titles, Akiyama, Saejima and lastly, Tanimura.
If you want to see a bit more of Yakuza 4, hit the jump for one of the Japanese trailers that was released for the game last year. And am I the only one that hopes the hostess minigames get left in the game this time. It is really that culturally confusing for Americans Sega?
