We Got Jordan Coming Out the Basketball Wazoo
It is kind of funny when a certain player stands out so much that they have their own licensing agreement. I mean, in Baseball a few years ago, we had Barry Bonds, who had his own licensing agreement, and could not be in a baseball game unless you licensed his likeness directly. Michael Jordan has been that way for sometime with Basketball games. For many years, you could not play a basketball game with his likeness in it, because he negotiated his own agreements. So there has been a lack of Jordan on the basketball scene for some time.
Now, it appears that we have Michael Jordan everywhere. First EA announced their title change to NBA Elite 11 with Michael Jordan on the cover. This seemed like a huge coup by EA Sports in getting a coveted athlete in their game. Well, a coup for about 24 hours when it was announced that 2K Sports would have Jordan on the cover of NBA 2K11. I have to wonder if this is the new trend in cover athletes, where a company pays for a 24 hour exclusive agreement.
That said, it is good to see Jordan back in the game that he made his own. I mean, sure, I would rather see Michael Jordan on the cover of MLB 2K11, but I can settle for second best. For a bonus treat, stick around after the jump for one of the best Michael Jordan games ever made, and yes, I did own it.
Best thing about this game. You could basically roll over everyone by continuously spamming shots with Jordan. I think my average win margin was 200 points.
