Sony is bringing Cartoon Network’s hit Clone Wars animated series into the virtual-world world with Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures. The free-to-play (but upgradeable to a paid account) PC game will include social features, minigames, avatar customization, and interaction with the stars of the Clone Wars TV show. Using Sony’s Station Cash virtual currency, players can “purchase legendary Star Wars outfits, items and accessories.” It also sounds like Astromech droids will be the new hotness in virtual online MMO pets.

Developed and published by SOE, creators of the critically acclaimed kids’ game, Free Realms, and licensed by LucasArts, in conjunction with Lucasfilm Ltd., Clone Wars Adventures will launch online and in retail stores this fall.
