Over Already: Set A Course For Sleep
After years of admiring EVE Online from afar, I’ve jumped in and have finally subscribed to the dog-eat-dog sci-fi MMO thanks to my brother James jumping in a few months ahead of me. With good free-to-play MMOs out likes Runes of Magic and Dungeons & Dragons Online you might ask how I could agree to pay anything for one, but the answer is easy. I am absolutely sick of fantasy themed games. I’ve always loved space, and EVE Online is the best game around for it.
I do like mining in the game, which is one of the two major ways to earn cash, but after a long day of real-life hustle and bustle it’s tough not to nod off at the computer when you’re hanging in space watching your cargo hold slowly fill up with ore so you can fly it back to the station, turn around, and repeat. To combat it, I’ve taken to running the game lower-res in a window and listening to podcasts and surfing the web at the same time, keeping an eye on the game window. Once I save up and train for a good combat ship I’ll be able to change things up a bit, but for now, it’s a lot of mining and an occasional quick skirmish with asteroid belt AI enemy ships.
What did you play this weekend?
