New Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days Multiplayer Modes Announced
First off, I want to be this character in the multiplayer modes of Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days. I mean, look at that old dude rocking the Stunna Shades. The guy oozes style, and it just became an instant screenshot for me.
Man crushing aside, Square-Enix has announced some new multiplayer modes for Kane and Lynch 2 called Cops and Robbers and Undercover Cop. In Cops and Robbers, there are two sides, up to six players on each side. One side plays as the cops, while the others play as robbers pulling a heist. You play through four rounds, two as each faction, and whoever pulls the largest score as a team wins. Undercover Cop mode plays out very similar to Fragile Alliance with a team trying to pull off a heist, but one of the team members is randomly selected to be an undercover cop. You have to wait until the heist is started, and then single handedly take down the crew without being discovered.
I am impressed with the amount of work IO Interactive and Square Enix is putting into Kane and Lynch 2 on the multiplayer side. The multiplayer was the best part of the first game, but became stale rather quickly due to the lack of maps or modes. All of these modes look great, and the visual style is completely growing on me. If the single player improves from the first game, Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days could be a pleasant surprise.
Check out videos for the new modes after the jump. Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days hits shelves on August 26th, 2010 on PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 from Square Enix and IO Interactive.
