Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days Adds Arcade Mode

Submitted by on May 13, 2010 – 11:17 am2 Comments

Today, we received word that Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days is getting a new single player mode called Arcade Mode.  The feel is similar to the Fragile Alliance mode of multiplayer that was a highlight of the first title.  In Arcade Mode, you are tasked with pulling off a heist of $4,000,000 from a host of different objectives.  During the heist, you have the ability to turn on your team to steal more of the money for yourself, or work as a team to make sure that the heist goes off smooth.  Of course, you also have to worry about the cops stopping you with a ball of lead as well, as you try to escape the heist.  Make off with the money, andyou proceed to the next heist, which increases the difficulty to complete.  Get killed and you lose a life and have to start the current heist all over again.

The Fragile Alliance mode is one of the big stand out modes of gameplay from the Kane and Lynch series, but poor net code, and a lack of players after launch, killed any chance of the mode living up to its hype.  Having that mode of play in a single player format should kill those two problems, and keep the game fresh for the player.  Now we just have to worry about the rest of the title turning into a polished gem rather than a lackluster turd.

We have a new video showing off all the action from Arcade mode, as well as more screenshots after the jump.  Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days is coming in August 2010 for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 from Square-Enix.
