id Shows Off Rage, and It Looks Spectacular
Today, we received a few new screenshots from id’s new first person shooter/third person racing title, RAGE, and the game looks amazing. The new id Tech 5 engine looks to push consoles and comptuers to their limits with all kinds of intricate details and resolutions. You can say what you want about the stories in id games, but they know how to build astounding game engines.
RAGE will bring players to an Earth where an asteroid has laid waste to society as we know it, and in the place of order, we now have anarchy and chaos. Your character has been buried under the surface of the earth with many others in life sustaining pods, and now you have been chosen to leave this haven of safety and are cast into the world of RAGE. I am interested to see how much story id is putting behind this title, as they are saying that it will have a deep and powerful single player narrative, as well as co-op and multiplayer.
All of that said, we will have awhile to wait, as RAGE is set for a vague 2011 release date from Bethesda and id Software. RAGE will come to Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Check out the jump for a few more gorgeous screens.
