More Split Second Mayhem On Display

Today, we received a new trailer showing off the destruction and mayhem that will be present in the arcade racing title, Split Second.  In the most recent trailer, featured after the jump, we get to hear an announcer calling out the special attacks that racers can trigger by loading up the attack meters.  The more tricks and stunts that you pull off will fill up the bar faster, and for each bar filled, more devastating attacks can be leveled to the environment.  These attacks change the track layout with each lap, making drivers traverse each lap as if it was a totally different track.

I for one was floored by the demo of Split Second at E3 last year.  It was highly stable, and a ton of fun, even as an early pre-production/alpha build.  Normally, racing games become a thing of memorization, but with the track changing with each lap, it always felt fresh.  This was high on my list for must have games in 2010 on any platform, so hopefully it will live up to that proclaimation.

Split Second hits PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on May 18th, 2010, from Disney Interactive Studios.  Make sure to watch the trailer after the jump.
