Weekend Deals: Torchlight, X-Com, The Witcher, Unreal Tournament III

My email inbox got a few offers from digital delivery services and one online retailer today. Let’s see what we have from Steam, Impulse, and GoGamer.

Before I jump in there I should note that ye olde Diablo II got patch 1.13 this week offering new screen resolution features and the ability to re-spec your hero. That could give you something fun to check out on PC. (I’d check it out myself but my laptop is away waiting for spare parts so it can get repaired.)

Steam leads the pack offering the much upgraded and highly regarded Torchlight for just $5 again! I’ve heard universal praise for this one.

Impulse is offering The Witcher for $9.99 which includes adult content not released previously in North America. They also have a 5-game X-Com Collection for $9.99 and an older game, Divine Divinity for $2.49.

GoGamer has chimed in with its 48 Hour Madness sale. On the PC side you can get Velvet Assassin or Tom Clancy’s HAWX for $5.90, Dead Space for $9.90, or Mass Effect for the PC for $9.90. Console gamers have something to chew on as well with Unreal Tournament III on either 360 or PS3 for $9.90, X-Blades PS3 for $9.90, Fracture PS3 for $9.90, Fear Files or Blue Dragon for $9.90 on 360. The full list is here.

The other problem with Diablo II is it's not compatible with the newest line of Macbook Pros. Until a patch shows up to fix that, I won't be playing it.
