Happy 10th Birthday Playstation 2!
On 4 March 2000 – when I was dancing around to Toploader’s ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’ and trying to figure out how the hell I was going to pay back my student loan – Sony were unveiling what would be, without doubt, one of the most significant and all-encompassing consoles ever. And while ten years ago I thought a lot of things would be different in the future – flying cars, robot slaves, cities on the moon, and the youthful certainty that by 2010 I would have gazillions of pounds and men falling over themselves to sleep with me – I really didn’t think that I’d still be playing regularly with a console older than my child. How’s that for a reality check?
Beating then-competitors Dreamcast and Gamecube into dreary submission it has gone to to sell over 140 million units worldwide and even today holds it own next to the heady competition of the next-gen line-up.
Happy Birthday PS2. Thanks for giving me Metal Gear Solid 2 and the chance to see how hot Solid Snake really is.

The bastard console that never dies. Honestly if they started marketing again I think it could outsell the PSTriple.
This one is clearly NOT the slim version…
Nope, it's not. But it's also a cake, which makes it doubly awesome.
