Glory of Heracles: Don’t look at my bum, you bum looker

Submitted by Stephen Munn on March 3, 2010 – 11:00 pmView Comments

I noticed something funny this evening in a promotional email I got from Nintendo supporting their recently released RPG for Nintendo DS, Glory of Heracles. They’ve obscured the ass! The original artwork that was circulating showed a surprising amount of one of the female characters’ posterior, but most everywhere I look now, that butt is covered. I love stuff like this!

Of course, these images are both simply composites of character art, and this could be interpreted as simply another layout for another page size with a different ratio of width to height. You can’t deny that the positioning of that boot is a little too strategic. Check below for a side-by-side.

  • Can you post the full image of the original artwork? From the side by side images, it's obvious that the entire image was completely rearranged.

Yep, as I mentioned in the article, the two images are composites, and are laid out differently.
  • I know you did--that wasn't meant to sound accusatory. I was just wondering if you could post the original artwork, so we could see the entire context.

I'm sorry I came across that way. Let me link you to the same art at IGN.

  • Thanks! Wow, it's a totally different image. It's amazing how marketing changes during localization.
  • Yeah, it just seemed strange to see something that trivial blown out of proportion by Nintendo. BTW, nice to have you as a visitor. Hope you won't be a stranger.
  • Hah! "Bum looker" reminds me of Mike Myers.
  • I saw the more "Exposed" add on the back of nintendo power. I was kinda suprised because it IS Nintendo.
