I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.
This year, we …

Friends Really Against Grenade Spam

You’ve got to hand it to EA, they’re not afraid to cock a snook or twelve at Activision. Witness (after the break) if you will, their recent PSA; Friends Really Against Grenade Spam. For those who remember when this happened, it’s rather clever. BFBC2 has had some rather good marketing, but I think this is the best so far.

Clever, very clever. That said, DICE just uses Infinity Ward's stuff against them; they never come up with anything original.

    ERR WRONG!

Battlefield 1942, which came out before Call of Duty, but after MOH:AA (which was created by some of the members of Infinity Ward) was the first game to actively engage 64 players, and heavily utilize vehicular combat. To say that DICE ripped of IW on any of that front, well, that's just a straight up lie and someone needs to learn their history.

  • Jordan_Snyder says:

ERR NOT WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT!

I'm saying that in their marketing campaign, the Battlefield Bad Company games has used even the slightest negative details and used them against Infinity Ward. Meanwhile, IW is simply staying chill at the top of the Xbox Live most played list. All DICE has been doing is trying to stir up controversy for their lesser game.

I thought some of the early BFBC2 reviews were putting it at better than CoD:MW2. So that has to count for something.

Let's be honest, though, DICE is doing the right thing in trying to piggy back others mistakes in attempts to 'steal' gamers from the franchise. Its capitalism at its best.

  • Jordan_Snyder says:

MW2 is still a clear 6 points ahead of BFCB2 on Metacritic if that means anything to you.

This whole thing makes DICE look really pretentious if you ask me. I mean, there are better, more classy ways to get ahead than simply bad-mouthing the competition, whose lead over them is unfaltering.

  • Modern Warfare 2 SUCKS!!! says:

Whatever. Nothing matters axcept for the Fact that Modern Warfare 2 is the Most noob-friendly game ever made, in fact, just plain worst game ever made. Devs at Infinity Ward have to be the most arrogant people on the planet. Just read interviews or watch videos with them. I even use to defend call of duty against battlefield. . . but then again that was while playing World at War. NOT developed by cocky bastards at Infinity Ward. . . I wonder if theres a connection. . .

    ERR, Wrong

    Sorry, everyone else said it.
I used to be a mild Fanboy of MW, and Ill admit I bristled at any insult to IW. However, takeing a cold, hard look at the two games I must say BC2 has a slightly better lead. That doesn't make either game better or worse. It just is. And besides, it just makes MW3 and BC3 that much more competitive, and thus both will do their hardest to be the best. I believe both games will be a blast.
