Cox on Twitter: Lords of Shadow will feature some “classic music”

While Dave Cox has previously talked about the Oscar Araujo score that’s being composed for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, there has been no mention (that I’ve seen) of classic Castlevania tunes appearing in the game at all. I was all set to let them go for this episode, too, until I saw this on Cox’s Twitter feed.

@CastlevaniaLOS Like @JoseMaruseru ‘s Q before – Are there many ‘remixed’ tracks from previous CV’s? And when are you going to Australia? :P

@BaneAu Yes but this is an original score with some classic music interwoven into it here and there.. Would love to go to Oz :)

Surprise, surprise. Bloody Tears? Vampire Killer? Maybe if we ask nicely, some Iron Blue Intention…? That could be nice with an orchestra. Food for thought: he says “interwoven into it,” which may mean mixed into the songs. For example, we could hear six bars of Vampire Killer in the middle of something else. We’ll see.

I'd expect the composer to interweave bits of older songs for thematic effect, to give fans the little bit of ear candy to tell them “see this is really a Castlevania see see?”
