Why What a Big, Um, Sword You Have

Submitted by Paul Munn on February 4, 2010 – 10:05 amComments

In a world of dry press releases of run-of-the-mill hype there is Atlus PR which is genuinely funny to read and write about. Adam noted this already but their ability to craft clever marketing messages goes a, ah, long way. New information on 3D Dot Game Heroes, coming a few months from now in May, addresses something I’d seen in previous videos. The hero’s sword was, um, well, a bit oversized.

They’ve taken that sentiment and run with it. If you think the previous swords were big, well, take a look at what some natural enhancement will do in the video above, which also gives us a, er, um, feel for more about the game. Full, ah, release after the, uh, oh dear, jump.

3D DOT GAME HEROES “NATURAL SWORD ENHANCEMENT”
VIGNETTE EXTENDS ONTO THE SCENE

Coming up short as the Hero of Dotnia? Watch this video!

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA — FEBRUARY 3, 2010 — Atlus U.S.A., Inc. today offered hope for countless confidence-challenged gamers with the release of a special “Natural Sword Enhancement” video vignette for the upcoming 3D Dot Game Heroes™, the ultimate retro action-adventure game for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. The video reaches out to the many aspiring and hopeful heroes of Dotnia, giving them a real opportunity to boost their courage without any harmful side effects. Testimonials, like the one below, seem to support the publisher’s claims:

“It’s not easy being the Hero of any kingdom,” commented an anonymous savior as he adjusted his bomb sack. “Sometimes, you can’t help but think that maybe life is a bit easier for other adventurers, that they’re having a better time slaying evil and whatnot. That’s why this video vignette and the service it promotes are so important: you can finally get that much-needed confidence you’re lacking!”

Dripping with old school charm, classic gaming pizzazz, and pure retro sexy, 3D Dot Game Heroes is the ultimate homage to the industry’s golden era.

3D Dot Game Heroes is scheduled to release on May 11, 2010 with an MSRP of $39.99.
