Naughty Dog’s latest and greatest title Uncharted 2 won 10 Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences awards this week. I’m currently playing through this excellent game and can vouch for the high quality not just of the graphics and sound, but also the story. So what exactly were the ten “gaming Oscars” it won?

Outstanding Achievement in Animation
Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction
Outstanding Achievement in Visual Engineering
Outstanding Achievement in Gameplay Engineering
Outstanding Achievement in Original Story
Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition
Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design
Adventure Game of the Year
Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction
Overall Game of the Year

Other games that won awards include Batman: Arkham Asylum (3 awards), Scribblenauts (2 awards), and even Flower picked one up.

I agree with most of those but in the end, I have to give my Game of the Year to the game that I'm still playing daily. Modern Warfare 2 combines smooth gameplay with addictive multiplayer and it's just an amazing package. I can understand why someone would give the award to Uncharted 2, but MW2 still reigns supreme in my book.
